Deion's brief aside about his two dads and their drinking and self-destruction, really made me think about a lot of aspects of my youth. I came here to hear Coach Prime talk about football and coaching, and he made me feel like I was on a therapist's couch. The man is an absolute legend, and the greatest promo guy in the history of the four major American sports.

Had an uncle that used to go down to Spring Training to watch his nephew who was in the Reds system. Mr. Sanders would come and sit and eat breakfast with him a couple days each of those years. He always remembered his name each year. My uncle just loved him. Truly an odd couple. Cracked me up hearing about this. Wish him the best.

I LOVE IT! At the end when he was talking about positions Coach Prime said he wants offensive lineman from two parent families because ‘..they don’t trip when it doesn’t go right. ..’. From my limited coaching at hs experience the OL group is the most stable personality group on the field. They really understand what it takes to take care of each other and the team. Years later I even tell parents who have girls to look for males /men /mates who have the OL personality. Because that’s the one group that has learned how to die to self and do what’s best for the team, never getting appreciated for their work, never calling it quits and coming off the field. Those are the kind of men that need to become praised in sports and in society!

30:38 When he shared the type of kids he looks for to play offensive line and defensive line that was some serious wisdom. He looks for kids from a 2 parent home for the offensive line because they are more stable and use to having a father which means they are likely to listen to a man tell them what to do and follow instructions. But for the defensive line he wants kids from the hood and trailer park who have that dog in them and are coming for you. Any of you coaches out there listening let that sink in. 🏈🔥

@@greatcornholio5541 your comment is slightly confusing, at least to me. Are you asking prime to explain why he left Jackson? Or are you asking people in the comments? I think he knows he could be an amazing coach (not that he isn't) but he wants to be in a higher division college so he actually has the ability to pick young men who come from good homes. I think at an all black school his coaching ability was being bottlenecked by having predominantly young men from broken homes. I know that seems racist of me but the man said it himself just in a different way

Welcome to Colorado Coach Prime! As a long suffering Buff we are ecstatic to have you. We know it is going to be only 3-5 years. However, ask Peyton Manning, you come here you don't leave. I have been following you for a couple of years now. Love what you do with kids. It is OBVIOUS you do this for the kids. God bless and once again WELCOME!

This is probably one of the best interviews ever seen on KZbin. The realness and even the foul language from the host is refreshing and everything Coach Prime spoke out of his mouth was spot on from and educational standpoint as well as a coaching and recruiting standpoint and it was great to hear his perspective of his baseball career and of course the quotes!

Prime is why I started playing football - specifically, his positions of corner and wideout - in high school. I think it's great that he's coaching, and kudos to his son Deion Jr. for his video work, giving us behind the scenes what goes on in Prime's day-to-day life.

One thing that resonated with me is when Mr. Sanders said that "You do what you love doing and the money seems to follow you." As with building your own business or even a relationship or marriage, you build it because you love what you're building and the money will follow. Don't focus on the money...Don't focus on yourself but focus on what you love and build it to your best ability and the money will come! I love that!

I love the honesty from Deion where he admits he was "Okay at Baseball". And although he was okay at Baseball arguably good, in 1992 in the World Series, Deion Sanders was arguably the best player in the World Series, and if the Braves won, he likely would have been named the MVP of the World Series.

I think one of the teams he played for Said back then that essentially his decision to play football was stunting his baseball development. He very well may have been a great baseball player had he committed to baseball fully rather than playing both. But he obviously enjoyed being a part of both and he was better at football. To play as well as he did in baseball despite not fully focusing on the game is an insane achievement that a lot of people may not totally grasp. Mastering baseball is one of the toughest things to do. The fact that successfully hitting the ball 1/3 of the time for your career will make you a HOF player says it all.
