I have one of these and it sucks at handling the wind. His deadcat is horrible. I'm desperately looking for a good deadcat that works well on it.

Works with cameras, tablets, phones, and gopro as long as there is a 3.5" audio input!

Hey man! Cool mic, never heard of it even til I saw it here. Question, how do both mics handle strong wind with the deadcats? I used to use a small Boya mic as a mic with a deadcat for my 2nd cam and it was useless in wind. I’m out in wind a lot so that’s a big factor for me.

Good question! When it comes to cancelling out wind noise, the longer the microphone and with appropriate dead cat, the better. This would give you better audio than camera, but not as good as say, an S-Mic. That said, when we normally redub in post for best quality--but this is for TVCs and non-docu videos. For our line of work, I'd recommend this PLUS a lavalier mic that you can connect to it. I usually have a mic on the camera of the operator, and then a lav on me at all times. I just pocket the plug end until I have to film talkies, at which time I take it out of my pocket and plug it in to the camera. With the D4 Duo, you can now choose between the audio from the D4 duo or from the lapel. This solution won't give you the best possible audio, but this is the perfect, versatile solution for mobile, one-man (or small team) docu filmmaking.
