That is a very clever design. I was also impressed by quite a few other things you have in your workshop. I have the same saw on a portable stand chewing up a lot of room in my work shop.

I have the feeling I'd add drawers underneath instead of boxes atop. Bit harder access, but out-of-way and nothing blocks when messy.

This build has one significant flaw - no dust control. No matter how good the built-in is, dust control for mitre saw always desires better. In fact - imperfection of dust control is the biggest reason for the mitre saw table in my opinion (issue of extending the table surface can be solved much easier). Otherwise nice work.
