Amit Da sang numerous superhit songs, right from late 1970's to mid 1990's. But,the problem is that people don't know that those superhit songs were sung by Amit Kumar. Many songs,which people thought to be sung by Kishore Kumar,were actually sung by Amit Kumar. Unknowingly,much of the credits of Amit Kumar went to Kishore Kumar, due to similarity in their voices. In mid 90's, he decided to quit Bollywood due to dirty politics of Bollywood and disrespect shown to him by Bollywood. He was an active playback singer in Hindi films,from 1976 to 1994. But,after leaving Bollywood in mid 90's,he started doing live shows & concerts all over the world and occasionally sung in Hindi films like Judaai,Raju Chacha,Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham,etc, on the request of the music directors. 'Bole chudiyaan bole kangana' was one of his last Hindi songs,in which he sang for Amitabh Bachchan. But, he didn't stop singing in other languages and he kept on singing regional songs,especially Bengali songs and he has been very successful in Bengali film and music industry. Songs like Aa baahon mein aa dekhu tujhe main pyar se, Ek din college gaya tha...do dooni chaar and Dard ka doosra naam hai zindagi are quite rare, but these are also superb and fantastic songs of Amit Kumar. Especially,in the song 'Aa baahon mein aa dekhu tujhe main pyar se',his voice sounds magical,so sweet and melodious. What to say about the song 'Dard ka doosra naam hai zindagi' from 'Saaransh' , one of the best songs of Amit Kumar (in terms of singing),words are not enough to describe this song and I would say that this is a hidden masterpiece of Amit Kumar.
