My friend a fish pond owner, had tried the same technique of fattening mud crabs, but most of the crabs remained thin. Thee don't get fat...Any suggestion or comment?

Very helpful. Thanks Erwin. FYI, King Crab as the locals call it is simply branding. Meaning, if it is King Crab then it must be big, heavy, and tasty. Growers may call their products however they want to emphasize distinction for marketing purposes...

The folks in the Island havent heard of the "King Crabs" that westerners know about, for them the large crabs that are found in their island that is amazingly big compared to all the over Mud Crabs that are found in the rest of Caraga Region or in the entire Mindanao is the biggest so they call them King Crab. Simple folks who are just not into the entrep and scientific nature of the name calling. Long before any NGO's started helping them on livelihood the mud crabs that are large in this part of Siargao had been called "King Crabs" :)

That is so true! I hope you guys out there stop making a comment that makes no sense. If you disagree, fine. But do not make it a point argument.

Technically, they are not KING CRABS. They're just mudcrabs.
@ErwinMascarinas7 жыл бұрын
technically it was written since 2015 in the description box that it is mudcrabs but thank you for the comment... It is quite obvious in the description since this was uploaded back on January 2015, written about the video that it is MUD CRAB ... The term KING CRAB is coined by the locals to describe the size of the crabs which is known to be the biggest in the entire Caraga Region in terms of size and consistency of having the same sized in majority of the time. Other towns within Caraga Region might have large mud crabs, specifically the provinces of Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte but not the same in numbers and sizes to that found in the small town of DEL CARMEN, SIARGAO ISLAND.

If the international NGO funding the project LIKED and picked the narrator then you can't do much about it, unless you are the one paying for the project...
