Thanks, this was from Delain´s last album. But soon coming also new! I found this band trough Marko Hietala and then learned that Marko has worked with them years. Practically all first albums. Only 2(?) last albums he has not been guest musician. Just now Delain is in North American tour together with Finnish band Amorphis. BTW, Amorphis vocalist is really awesome, both clean and growl... There was some problems with Delain drummer papers and he couldn´t come same time to US than all others. But there was already fixed concert days... So, Amorphis drummer promised to help and play those first concerts. But both bands have 1½h time, so Amorphis drummer must work 3h in every concert!!!

Saw them live in Toronto a few weeks ago and this song in particular was really amazing. Yes she pulled off that chorus as well. Same show I saw Amorphis (another Finnish band) and Anneke van Giersbergen (who you saw sing with Within Temptation). Raskasta Joulua - Oi Jouluyö - Floor Jansen KZbin It has become a tradition in Finland to organize a concert called Heavy Christmas. This concert is at Metro Arena in Espoo. Floor sings the Christmas song in Finnish. Pretty good from the Dutch. The same concert where Marko and Floor performed the song, Ave Maria.. Floor is expecting a baby and sings handsomely.

Agree with the comments to review Amorphis featuring Anneke van Giersbergen - Amongst Stars. This track will pleasantly surprise you. And you can (and should) go through The Gathering legacy - Anneke is in my own personal Super League of best female voices in metal of all times together with Floor, Tarja and Tatiana (jinjer).

I have fallen in love with the Gathering. For me i got introduced to Anneke through Devin Townsend and then Anneke introduced me to Amorphis and all these other amazing powerhouse Dutch female singers (Floor, Simone, Charlotte, Sharone Etc) and their respective bands. So Anneke and Devin Townsend were my gateway drug to symphonic metal. Lol

@@vinograd74 Devin Townsend is a fellow Canadian, so I ended up finding out about him first. Found out about Floor through the couple songs they collaborated on and then found Nightwish around the same time as the Gathering.

The Gathering with Anneke was my 1st stop on this journey in 96 🤟 Shortly after that came Within Temptation and After Forever, do not know which was first 🤔 A couple of years later Nightwish crossed my path...with Tarja! After the break up I've lost track of Nightwish. Epica was a bit later on this amazing Journey, as a sort of replacement...🤪 untill 8 months ago. After #GoT I wanted to fill that gap and Ghost Love Score popped up on YT 👌 Done Deal! Delain is the next chapter 😁👍

Amorphis is one of the best bands going (their last 2 albums are STELLAR!!). The Gathering has always been a favorite of mine since Mandylion. Anneke is one of my all-time favorite vocalists, and she is such a lovely person...so sweet! I have been a fan of Nightwish since Oceanborn but lost interest after Tarja was booted. Only since EFMB (after Floor joined) did I start listening again. Cheers!

Great reaction! Try their latest single too: "Burning bridges" (official video). Unfortunately most live recordings got bad sound quality. That's why I think you should stick with official videos. But if you want to see one live, try "Fire with fire" Live at paradiso. That is one of few recordings with ok sound. You will also see some good participation from the audience.

I told you it was pitty that Charlotte was not in the first clip you saw from them. :-) They are also a great live band. I have seen them live once and was very impressed. Charlotte does write songs herself. She actually wrote the idea of the concept album "Phantasma" when Georg Neuhauser from Serenity wanted to make a concept album. He himself however could not come up with a good idea. Charlotte who had never done anything like this herself came up with the solution of writing a small story (100 page novella) to develop the idea (the record company actually included the booklet with the cd). Somebody at the record company was so impressed by the story she had written that he send it through to a couple of book review magazines without informing Charlotte. He wanted to find out what real book critics thought about it. First thing she heard about this was via a friend who called her to congratulate on het first novelle. Since the album was not released at the time she made the link easily and it turned it was reviewed by several magazines and all them were very impressed by her writing skills. One critic wrote that if she would ever write a book he/she would be thrilled to review it. It is a great album to listen to that can be found on KZbin as well. If you are interested in one of their older songs then try "We are the others" where she still has her beautiful red hair. Look up the name Sophie Lancaster to get the backstory of the song. Olly you know what ? I believe IMHO, that the majority of other people, in these days (our days), listen mostly to rubbish and without any poetic meaning, quality or emotion music ! So I guess and correct me if I'm wrong, almost the only bands and musicians who remain loyal to Rock music, poetically and musically (of course), are from the Netherlands and the Nordic countries !! It can't be a coincidence. Am I right or wrong ? BTW brautiful song and great reaction as usual !!

I cannot come around to them... It is proper music but nothing more. Kind of music you listen to in car - something which makes time more pleasent but nothing more... Sound of instrument and composition are quite good but voice is a little over avarage for me (7+) - I think that is because of her timbre which is proper but not gorgeous. Only gorgeous voices makes me goosebumps !!! But to be honest, it`s better then any current rock music and a lot of female metal. EDIT: To the fans of DELAIN - maybe I`m prejudiced... Which albums are the best and I should give`em chance? EDIT 2: I love when voice is powerfull and sensual . Then please check two of such voices - my first metal queen Liv Kristine and last discover Aleah Stanbridge (RIP). First is known from Theatre od Tragedy but for beginning look for Leaves` Eyes "Symphonies of the Night", "Hell to the Heaven", "Saint Cecelia", "Hymn to the Lone Sands". Liv`s voice is one of the best in metal. Aleah is from band Trees of Eternity. She died but poured soul into album "Hour in Nighingale". It`s kind of doom metal. Her voice is sensual and passing...
