Thank you so much, but in all honesty, I under-reacted to the first song. Not only is it on my playlist, but I haven't been able to get it out of my head for two weeks now. If that's not a hallmark of a good song then I don't know what is (also loved the editing of the video). Keep doing you and we'll be here for it ❤️✊🤘

I enjoyed this song a LOT! I think her voice is sssoooo pretty! I am with you on it sounding conventional and everything you said about it. Her voice sounds like a beautiful voice that is at it's earlier stages, where there is room for more developing. Great review, babe! 🤗😘💜🌻

Since youtube still keeps deleting my comment (after 15-20 attempts with different versions), let's see if posting it as a reply to your comment will help: Considering how much you like Sharon's voice, I'd like to recommend the debut album "Mana" (2004) by the Dutch band Nemesea to you. I'd say their vocalist Manda Ophuis can go about as high as Sharon, just check out the opening track "Threefold Law" and the preceding intro "Nemesis": kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJuumYOXaaiLeK8 "Threefold Law" was the first song I heard and it made me buy the album. The music qualifies as Symphonic Metal and it also features some actual strings (violin, viola, cello) as well as a small choir consisting of 6 vocalists. I enjoyed that album a lot back then and revisiting it recently made me wonder why I hadn't listened to it for so long. If I remember correctly, it's a concept album. There are no official music videos to any of the songs from that album, but I feel they often distract from the music anyway. Unfortunately, their second album went in a different more commercial direction which I didn't like at all, thus I didn't buy it. They have released another three albums after that, the last one with a different singer, but already reading the reviews and knowing my pickiness, I know that they won't be my cup of tea. This recommendation isn't necessarily meant for a reaction, but do listen to it on your own and let me know what you think of it. There's never a guarantee, but I would be very surprised if you should tell me you didn't like it!

I love Delain's newest album and the concert in Berlin was amazing! Small and intimate but I had so much fun, just headbanging and dancing to the songs! I think you should definitely check out their songs Invictus (including Marco :P) and Underland! I think you will love these two even more! And I have another suggestion to check out for you: The Ukrainian metal band called "Ignea" released their new album "Dreams of Lands Unseen" two month ago and their album is a masterpiece overall. I think it's worth checking it out as a whole piece (or at least several songs) because it's a concept album travelling to different cultures and styles in the songs :)

Fun reaction, and thanks for giving them a proper chance! Their release schedule did its job well for me - TQ&tC was first, I had a more positive initial reaction than you, they had my attention. Then _Beneath_ made me think that this was definitely a band to watch. The other two just confirmed that I would be happy listening multiple times, so I went ahead and bought the album on release. They are definitely up the "poppy" end of symphonic metal, but not boringly so (although I've yet to meet anyone who can give Tuomas a run for consistently intriguing). _Moth_ _to_ _a_ _Flame_ (about a toxic obsessive relationship) is the most poppy single, but I actually like it a lot. I think it's probably not your cup of tea, though. Oh, and Marko appears on the album again! Oh, and thanks for leaving in the Charlotte/Simone bit. Nothing wrong with making mistakes if you're prepared to learn...

IMO, her voice is not fully utilized yet on the album tracks. Martijn started writing this album before she officially became the new singer. But i've seen an immense growth in her voice (and stage presence), from the try-out shows to the actual tour. And just know she can do so much more.

Btw fun to here you say her voice reminds you of Sharons. Dianna is a big Sharon fan, and is now in Delain with Martijn (former WT keyboard player, and brother in law to Sharon)

If you wanna react to something truly spectacular from the "old" Delain, then please react to Masters Of Destiny. They have lots of great songs and it is so nice that Leah is able to sing them live in her own style. I've seen them live in Berlin and it was great. The biggest surprise was the amount of "old" songs and how good they sounded with Leah! Been a fan from the very first album on, so i was crushed when almost the whole band quit. At first i did not expect much from the new lineup, but boy was i surprised after listening to the first 2 Singles...

Another great review. My knowledge of this band was almost as good as yours (except the Simone thing 😁). I agree on everything you said. Her voice though does not have that special tone that makes it stand out (at least in the songs we heard). Still, the chorus compensated for this.

C'mon Man! How many times has Floor Jansen sung with Epica? Simone Simons is the singer for Epica. Charlotte Wessels is the former singer for Delain. They had the vocal from the old Delain song and the Within Temptation song playing along with the new singer, I think. She doesn't sound anything like Charlotte or Sharon. Delain is totally different now.
