The wait is finally over! DELAIN, the brainchild of keyboardist, founder and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt, returns with full power, presenting themselves with a new lineup featuring the terrific Diana Leah as their next singer! Charlotte is missed for sure, she was integral to Delain's unique sound in a wave of symphonic metal bands. However, I agree, Diana is a fine vocalist in her own right and they couldn't have made a better choice. I expect the band to get even heavier over time, with tinges of Lacuna Coil where we have soaring, high, clean vocals by one singer and then growling vocals done by another. When done right, it's beautiful. I'm glad Delain is back.

@@enricopaoletti5650 The official explanation was that Charlotte will focus in her solo career. Martijn is the only remaining original member and everybody else has left so there might be some personal chemistry issues, too. That said, let's focus in music instead of people. The voice of Diana Leah was so similar to Charlotte's in some parts that it was really surprising. I had to watch the video like, yeah, this is not Charlotte but it sure sounds a lot like her voice. The voices are not identical but should suit similar songs very well. After hearing this song I personally prefer Charlotte's voice more but it could be just the song. I'll listen future later songs, too, for sure.

Great song, great video. Diana Leah, omg just WOW, beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. I absolutely love the chorus of this song. I have heard other artists harmonize with themselves before, but never set up in that way before. Whoever arranged it like that is a freaking genius. Indeed, Charlotte is one of a kind, but they couldn't have picked a better vocalist to fill in her shoes. Rock solid song, one where the growling vocals instantly made me think of Lacuna Coil, a band that hasn't lost its edge since going full-blown heavy metal, and if anything has only gotten even heavier as time has gone on. I expect the same thing with Delain and Diana, that over time, they will get even heavier as they polish their unique sound down to a science. This is great stuff without a shadow of a doubt.

What do the bands Thundermother and Delain have in common? Not a lot musically of course, but rather that the band members got so pissed off at the founder member that they all walked out, leaving said member with just the band name. This was probably because said founder members were not very nice. So if you're going to re-launch the band from scratch, you'd better do a good job, because you've got a lot to prove. In both bands, the re-launch has been a total triumph. You can't argue with great music, and this clearly is. Superlative Symphonic Metal, with everything you want to hear in a SM song. Diana Leah is a fine vocal talent and a great discovery. And she fronts a most excellent number that scores top marks in all departments. It's a must-own. My Score: Excellent 5*

That the founder members were not nice is an assumption. Fact is we don't know what actually happened indoors because we weren't there, so the rest is speculation.
