Some good advice here, I normally stamp on the gear lever like it's on fire. I have never hurt anything it's normal for a big loud crunchy sound from the gearbox. It's built to take it. You really should propper kick it into gear, and drive your foot into the gearchange like it's an un-loved stepchild. On my Bandit I upgraded the synchromesh to Quaife and the chain connecting the primary shaft to the crank I upgraded to 530 from D.I.D. Next, I want to install a limited slip diff.

Where can I get the parts needed to make my gearbox shafts seperate - I checked on all of my bikes and not one of them has this mechanism, I even stripped a few dozen engines and still can't find out how they do that.

So don't use choke,wiggle the clutch, don't bring in the shafts slowly,stomp the shifter down,change the oil all the time,keep your chain tensioned. This should definitely be included in the owners manual. People at Suzuki need to step up their game.

The 1200 is based on the old 1100 gsx. As for the crunch in 1st? I have no idea what he's talking about, and I've had a few bandits. The first gear engagement isn't any worse than any other bike. And a 1200 bandit should idle at 1200 rpms as it says in the owners manual.
