I found out what the "inappropriate" Santa thing was. If you pressed the button, he would turn around and pull down his pants to reveal "Merry Christmas" written on his underwear. This functioned similarly to the other christmas card operation, where you could change the message and send it to friends. I don't know why the developers thought this would be the best thing to add...
