Definitely love the idea of a cooking segment by Julia and here's a recipe I came up with myself. Ingredients Preferred choice of bagels such as onion, blueberry, everything, wheat, white or plain (onion is best) (not Parmesan because they burn easy) Butter or cooking oil (butter works best for flavor) Sliced cheese Necessary items Skillet or frying pan Spatula Table knife for adding butter to skillet or frying pan Steak knife or any large kitchen knife for slicing bagels Plates:1 for sliced bagels and 1 for cooked bagels Directions 1. Slice Bagels from the side so you have a top and a bottom of each bagel 2. Add preferred amount of butter to pan and turn on burner and set pan on the burner and let the butter melt 3. After butter is melted add slice of bagel and "grill" it until each side is preferred shade of brown (you will need to add butter after each side of the slice is done) (firmly pressing down will make it brown faster. Careful not to burn too badly) 4. Once slice is done set it to the side and immediately add a slice of cheese so cheese will partially melt to the slice 5. Add second half of bagel and repeat step 3 6. When second half of bagel is done put it on top of the other finished slice and grill it a little more while randomly turning it over until cheese melts a little 7. Repeat steps 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 until all bagels are done
