Delhi Flood News:
Due to heavy rains and the release of water from Hathni Kund Barrage, many low-lying areas of Delhi have been flooded. The houses of many people living in the surrounding regions of Yamuna have been submerged. In such a situation, many families have become homeless. To provide temporary shelter to these families, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is running 33 relief camps in five areas, City Paharganj area, Central area, Civil Lines area, Shahdara North area, and Shahdara South area
About 7371 flood victims have taken shelter in these relief camps where medical facilities are also available along with food and drink. Nodal officers have been appointed to maintain the smooth system in the relief camps. Arrangements have been made by the MCD for accessible toilets, 24-hour appointments of sanitation workers, free medicines, drinking water, food, etc. in the relief camp. For the convenience of the people, the location of the relief camps and the phone numbers of the nodal officers related to them have been posted on all major social media platforms including the official Twitter handle of the corporation. Along with this, the victims have also been told by the MCD that the corporation is standing with them in this challenging time and the corporation will provide them all possible help to reduce their problems.
