When we checked 18 months ago, Montecarlo was the slowest contractor. Some progress has been made but needs at least another two years. More earthmoving equipment needs to be on the sites.

I don't think this expressway's work in Maharashtra will be complete in coming 2 years. It could take upto 3 ro 4 years to complete this work. Looks like progress in Maharashtra is very slow as compared to other states.

Not the whole state but in and around Mumbai as the terrain is more difficult and rains. Roads in interior of state are built at the same pace as anywhere in India. But overall there is significant underinvestment in infrastructure for a growing India. China spends 20-24% of gdp on infrastructure, the US spends 16% of gdp on infrastructure. India only spends 8% of gdp on infrastructure - this is very low for India’s stage of development. It should be double this number.

​@backpropagation8365 bro.. i regularly travel on nh65.. hyd to pune. Its very clear how pathetic mh sections are. If you blindfold someone and drive. He will also be able to tell when the road has crossed karnataka into maharashtra. Same is true for nh44, hyd to nagpur.. Same is true for hyd indore expressway post telangana border Same is true for nh48 around kolhapur All places roads has been dug up for last 5 to 7 years for flyovers and all, and in most cases only box culverts or some pillars are at best constructed. Yet toll phir bhi liya jata hai 😂

The one thing positive is, Maharashtra first time has a stable government, it should be expected to have these works done at a rapid pace

On contrary it will be slower and much of the funds will be diverted to various schemes like ladli etc . Maharashtra budget will be difficult to manage if government starts diverting money to all its schemes

Mr Gadkari has given a new deadline of October 2025 for the completion. I guess the initial deadline was March 2022. Now it seems that even the new deadline looks difficult. I was honestly expting this project to finish on time given its importance and the way Mr. Gadkari spoke about it. I thought he would ensure minimal delays, although he is far better than a lot of other ministers, but it is clear one can't trust on what he speaks either.
