You will find traffic for sure in Shimla but once you've crossed kufri, traffic shouldn't be an issue. People generally don't go to cheog. Also there aren't many resorts so there may not be as many people as Shimla or kufri

@ see, there's always a first time for everything. If you know how to drive a car I'm sure you can drive in the hills too. You just have to be extra careful. Shimla is where I drove for the first time in hills. Roads are pretty wide. I would recommend hiring a taxi for sight seeing and try to book a hotel which is easily accessible by main roads and has ample parking space and you should be fine 👍

Yes you need a visitors visa. Your friend needs to send some documents also you need to tell them the reason for your visit. And again it's called schengen visa only.
