@@Sivanshu_sahay if you write mains in English, then you have to write Optional in English, except the literature subjects. This is what answer I got from a renowned coaching institute

@@samratbiswas6212 no , when you fill your mains form - you got the option to choose language for optional...don't worry

@@Sivanshu_sahay but the fact is , if you select English language for paper 1-5 , then only one language option is left in the drop down box for optional language selection and that is English when the optional is not a literature of any language. If you select any of scheduled Language for paper 1-5 , say Hindi, then only you have the option to write your optional paper either in Hindi or in English when your Optional is not a literature of any language. If you write paper 1-5 in Bengali and your optional is sociology then you have option to write sociology either in Bengali or in English. If your write paper 1-5 in English and your optional is any of the literature, say Urdu, then you will have option to write it in Urdu. Please think over it, I was much confused and this is kind of reply I got from a renowned mentor
