Pumpkins had a bunch of alternative hits. Singer/band leader Billy Corgan was a pretty obsessive and prolific songwriter. Siamese Dream is the album Mayonnaise is from and is considered one of the best albums of the 90's. Whole album is worth a listen.

That lil high picture squeal on the guitar was because they couldn't afford a good guitar at the time and it was broken and made that noise. They left it in and it's kinda iconic now

It wasn’t broken, it had a malfunction and it would still feedback when nothing was being played. They actually wrote those parts in when they recorded to stop playing, to let the so called “whistle” come through.

The pumpkins lead singer is Billy Corgan, who is also the lead guitarist and main songwriter. You either love or hate his voice. He’s genuinely a musical genius. You should listen to Bullet with Butterfly Wings next or Hello Kitty Kat
