The Lifesavers are good kit for sure, but it depends to what level you want to purify the water. What I discovered is the Lifesavers wont't remove nitrates, nitrites, and similar farming industry runoff chemicals. Plus they won't remove microcystins (the toxins released from blue-green algae).

Point is if you need a portable water filter it will cost you more over time vs a home kit. What's difficult to understand?

@@DaveOTG This to me sounds like a great option for purifying water while camping, traveling, or in an emergency scenario, especially since it's battery powered and can be run with a solar panel. Even if filters have to be changed out after 100 gallons, that's still a lot of water, especially if this isn't your primary source of potable water. It could take you a while to filter a 100 gallons if this is used sparingly.
