Excellent series of your travels in the Mekong area. The wife (Ngoc) and myself totally enjoyed watching and wishing we were back in Vietnam. Last time we were there was in 1972 while I was in the USAF. You have brought back lots of great memories for both of us. The wife continues to prepare most of all the Vietnamese foods you have tasted. We are lucky to be near a large Vietnamese community here in Orange County CA where we can purchase all the Asian veggies and condiments. Cheers!

My family make Banh U every week. They sell it to the Vietnamese market in the States. It is very popular as a on the go food. Also it 2X the size, because America and it has the pork belly inside.

Max, if you travel in Soc Trang, you should try the "bánh pía kim sa". Gonna change your mind cause the salted yolk is melted with some creamy texture. I love your South Vietnam vlog so much. Love from a Soc Trang person

Oh i buy those exact Banh pia cakes (pandan flavored, durian+sesame flavored) at a local Asian import grocery store owned by Vietnamese people. That's so exciting that they literally eat them in Vietnam!

M , C , Phúc mập ... mn dẽ ăn gì đâu , cái gì cũng khen ngon , t ăn 1/8 cái bánh bía ăn ko vô vì nó ngọt khé cổ , vậy mà M ăn tỉnh bơ , hổt 1 đống đem về ăn tết nữa , nể thiệt , VN zui hé , trg khi giờ này TG nhiều nơi buồn ảm đạm

Dang that factory for banh pia! That is crazy! My favorite is the durian flavored one followed by the purple one (it's late so I forget the name but I think it's a root vegetable like a potato).
