Thanks man for checking out the Honda video from yesterday. And you're soo right. That bike mechanic is someone special. I get a sense that he does these repairs more as a hobby. He's just plain passionate about old Honda twins. He's a super rare find for sure.

Two months ago, I found a bike on Facebook Marketplace that took me back to when I was 13. My best friend got a Sears 106SS for Christmas that year. Living in a small rural community in Florida, with little to no police patrols, we had a ball. Now, I have my own 1967 Sears 106. It was restored by a guy that is enamored by Italian motorcycles. Nothing like a motorcycle to make a person feel alive. From the smallest to the biggest, there's just something about the sound and the feel of riding a bike. To anyone who hasn't experienced it, you can't understand the thrill until you do.
@hullinger
@hullinger 4 жыл бұрын
Wow man, thanks for sharing that about your Sears 106. I never heard of it before and ended up looking it up. Looks like a fun bike. And you're sooo right about feeling free on these things. And again you're right that it doesn't matter if it's the biggest or smallest bike. I learned on a Honda XR80. That bike took me places and gave me more joy than anything else at that time. It was a big, big part of my youth that I wouldn't replace for anything.

I had one just like that that I bought as a complete basket case in New Castle. My uncle and I spent evenings and weekends for about a month working through it all, got it running and painted it. It ran great. I rode it till I was able buy a new, in the crate, 5 year old CB750K from the Honda dealer on West Chester, PA. I wish I could find another one, or it's cousin, the SL350 enduro.
@hullinger
@hullinger 4 жыл бұрын
Dude, that's cool and crazy to find a 5 year old, but new, CB750. I hear stories or see ads every once in a while listing a new-in-the-crate but older bike for sale. Cool that you got one and it's pretty cool with the local connection too. Thanks for sharing!

Man everyone’s got the itch! My neighbor just fixed up my 90cc dirtbike from when I was a kid. Had a blast riding that around. It was like being in a time machine. Had so much fun a few days later I ordered a 250 dualsport online. Can’t wait to get my motorcycle license and cruise around town. Stay safe and have fun guys!

Never too late to have fun and your son will get the hang of it in no Tim and enjoy it soo much. Good for him you and your dad. Best of luck with that cb350.

Just stumbled on this video! I had the 250, low pipe version, so this is a familiar sound to me. 2 sets of points at 90 degrees as they are 180 degree twins and the camshaft turns at 1/2 engine speed. What a lovely bike your dad has.

Awesome cool video. I had a Honda 350. It was red & white. (The best I remember.) It was a nice running bike. I bought it used for 500 bucks. I had a lot of fun with it. I finally sold it to my older brother and got the new Grand Prix. Bikes are a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your video. Stay well & safe.

Hello Chris, that bike and also the video is really cool..... i am two years older than the bike but the bike looks fresher than me :-))) Your son becomes now a real biker ! Greet him from me and if he would like to have a modern bike which is not too expensive but has all the safety features of today (corner ABS, traction control, etc.), please have a look at my current videos of the KTM 390. The bike is not expensive, not too fast and modern. The KTM 390 comes up also in north america right now on the market in May 2020 (i have read) ... and your channel is now also a motorcycle channel :-) and not just a car channel. Oh yes, and if your son wants to see more bikes, he can come and visit me (when the travel ban ends anytimes). My offer is still valid. There is also "German Autobahn" then on the "program" :-) Greetings to your family from Frank

I have one identical to yours but in orange/black. It is definitely in need of some repairs. It has only 88 miles on it. Who is the gentleman that you took yours to? I would love to get this thing back on the road as it belonged to my dad and he passed back in 2005. The last time it was really ridden was back in 1976/77 and has been in the basement ever since. I just want to bring back a piece of the memories of old.
