@@justinsanchez6255 I mean, if we’re going off real armor then no. Real plate armor is made in a way then almost forced an opponent to run away, surrender, or try to bludgeoned them to death as the only options (unless you’re really good and precise with your thrusts and you can manage to hit small areas that couldn’t have been fully protected as it would be difficult to properly fight like the armpits, wrists, elbows or knees, then hope you’re facing a guy who doesn’t know how to defend himself and only trying to hit you ). They made plate armor, especially the chest plate, pretty curvy as to not allow most thrusting strikes to properly pierce through the armor and expose the wearer, as it pretty expensive to make an genuine full plate harness so you don’t want the chance to get your armor damaged so easily by the most common types of weapons (slashing and thrusting weapons). And if you slash or thrust into actual plate armor, and that weapons of yours slips or bounces off, you’re now open for a free, harsh shot to that person wearing the armor. With something like the katana, the handle has a higher chance to do something to the wearer then the blade could, the katana is a very slash dependence weapon, and that makes sense as samurai didn’t face or fight many foes with full plate harnesses, armor that’s purposely constructed to be completely slash proof, they fought people with armor that wasn’t as resistant to slashing strikes (not that a samurai would use a katana against someone in plate, when they could just use other, more practical and common weapons against plate like various forms of a spear or the Kanabo (a weapon that would better a good counter to plate armor as it’s literally a big spiked club). Samurai didn’t wear or consistently fight against people in full plate harnesses so they never had the chance or reason to even learn how to counter it, while they had metal plate components in they’re armor, like over the chest and such, they didn’t clash in that style of armor to the extent of needing a proper counter. They used armor that allowed for more mobility and flexibility (not that you can’t be mobile and flexible in plate, it just a bit more constructive to those elements). Tl;dr: *no*
