Bon travay. I love you guys songs but this one touched my heart the most. I'm Haitian and my wife Canadian and in our house is Creole-English speaking. We speak French and Spanish too! You pronounce the words so clearly. Like you were Haiti natives. I'm curious to know how you know Creole and why you chose to sing in Creole. Beautiful as always. A very very late reply to your question, but I think know the answer. One of the girls in this group was a missionary in Chile the same time I was also a missionary there. There were a lot of Haitians in the country at the time, so we and the other missionaries met and befriended quite a few of them. In that time, many of us learned Haitian Creole and learned much about Haiti and Haitian culture. The song was very popular among Haitians at the time, and you could just say "ou konnen Papa Bondye?" and they would know the song right away. Because of that, the song Papa Bondye became ubiquitous throughout the whole mission, and even the missionaries that didn't know Creole knew all the words and would often sing it. I think it was something that meant a lot to us because the Haitians meant a lot to us. Haitians are the kindest, most generous people I've ever met, and it felt like learning Creole and learning their songs was a small way we could express our love for and to give back to them. While I can't speak for her, I imagine the girl I was a missionary with that's in this group felt the same way.
