I haven't dashed in a while but will be getting back into it. Always liked your channel. I realize it's your side hustle and you're husband and wife so there's some ignoring of the dollar breakdown but in terms of pure luxury and quite frankly safety, the number one best circumstance is having a partner to dash with. It changes to whole experience for the better while dashing. And certainly it's a ton safer to have a dedicated driver while the other works the app. Dashing alone, as we know, makes the gig much more challenging. However dashing together does change the structure of what you're truly making. Two of you are dedicating your time and energy for the money. But I get it. It's a side hustle you enjoy doing together regardless. But that right there is the number one tip of the day - if you have a spouse who's willing to be a partner in participation, not just ride along, that's a hella good scenario for an easier dash time. Be safe out there. I work Coram. Maybe our paths will cross sometime!

I dash in the suburbs of Philly and recently hidden tips are indicated with a plus sign at the offering...e.g. $7.50+ Don't know if this is rolling out across the board or what but it does take the guess work out of it a bit....the plus can mean $2 or $30 or anything....but at least you know there IS hidden tip.....still silly to hide it at all but this is better than nothing, I guess..... Love your videos...I've been delivering about the same amount of time as you two....wish I had a sidekick, would lessen the wear & tear on the body!!! Keep on keepin' on!!!

2 usd per mile is 1.66 Canadian per KM. If I waited for that on orders I'd just sit in a parking lot all night. It's interesting seeing different areas and different dashers strategies. I'm thinking about trying for Top Dasher since my area seems dead on many evenings through the week so I hope it would snag more orders on those days.

My chief rule is this: don't stress out over all the rules and tips you see on KZbin videos. As you said, you do you. The minute I go into stress over doing deliveries, that's the killer. I have fun and adventurous deliveries, not penny pinching "I didn't get MA TIP" "where am I going now?" deliveries. Do a good job, smile, be pleasant, and be the guy you would want your driver to be.

The reason thing is correct now but before, the “my dash ends soon” reason would end your dash and “I need a bathroom break” would pause your dash.

Lou and Mary, I noticed the magnetic mount with lanyard that you’re using with your GoPro. Does that work well for you? Holds in place well? Thanks for your videos!

I always enjoy watching these ride alongs. I like the bell for when you scan items in instacart. I keep my notifications silent. Lol. BTW, Lou, you're facial haircut from the vlogging channel looks good! Can't wait for another video.
@nicks931 Жыл бұрын
Nice you're addressing per mile cost. However. You haven't mentioned figuring out your personal cost per mile. Factor in car payment (lease, amortization if paid for, depreciation, etc), insurance (especially in the case of younger drivers, i.e. your daughters), maintenance, and idle/deadhead time. When I drove a big truck OTR we figured it cost us $0.25-$0.50 just to pull off the interstate to change drivers. Therefore, unless a restroom break was needed, we didn't! Until and after all the expenses are accounted for? Keep your $/mile refusal figure high, or you'll get bitten in the rear when it comes time to repair/maintain your vehicle.

Mary, I like how you packed the Stop N Shop order with the cold/frozen items in one bag. That’s how I pack my groceries and it makes it so much easier when unpacking them at home when you separate the cold vs shelf items in diff bags.

Is it the music when we are taking or the transition music as well? Is it just the type of music or the transitions which include music? One of the reasons for using it is retention especially during transitions

Which do you find better / busier in Western Suffolk County, Doordash or Uber Eats?

Get to know your market well. Introduce yourself to the managers at the restaurants in your zone. If you have a good relationship with the manager, the employees will treat you better. About half of my restaurants give me free drinks (and sometimes food items). Also know the best exits out of shopping centers depending on the way you are going. Many times you can save 5 minutes simply by going out the right exit and missing lights and/or traffic.

I wish I knew you could zoom in and see if it is a home, business or some "monstrosity" of an apartment/condo complex. I wish I would have realized that one bad day would not make for a bad month. Just because one day is slow and you don't even come close to your daily goal that doesn't mean that at the end of the month you still will have the money to pay your bills. We all have days where we are burned out. Make time for life, not just dashing!

Ive been between 0 n 15% for over a year. So it wasnt because of that. There is no minimum for acceptance!! Or so many of us would be deactivated. Completion matters. Not acceptance.
