Can it really reach 200 mph? That's impressive! 😃 I used to own a blue 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass, and it's still my favorite car to this day! Classic cars are a blast. Right now, I'm saving up for a Lamborghini.😊

Believe it was only the nascars that could do 200 but the road cars could only do 180ish

IIRC, the NASCAR prepped Daytonas were good go over 200 mph on track and were the first non land speed race cars to go 200 plus mph on a closed course. I also seem to remember that one of their drivers (drove the purple and white Dow Chemical car) saying that when they were testing the race cars at one of Chrysler’s proving grounds, not only were outrunning their own tires, they would run 240mph if the drivers has the balls to go that fast. Seem to remember that he said most of them lacking there too…..

The road legal one m not sure, because it isn’t actually the first production road at to hit 200, it may be able but idk, the F40 was the forst

That car is really cool and even though it can do 200 it's actually an American muscle car that dodge modified to be able to achieve 200 mph. I do a lot of research on cars but that is a very cool car either way and it's pretty awesome that you managed to actually find one of those cars

Hemi was 426 cubic inch, not 440 cubic inch, the 440 is the magnum which is sitting in your car. Couple of cool history bits: They worked with a nasa engineer to get the aero just right for them to hit over 200 mph. Dealers had such a hard time selling these that there's documentation that some cars sat for 2+ years before being sold. There were dealers that were so desperate to get them off the lots that they pulled the front nose cone and spoiler and would chuck them in the dumpste, there was a guy that ended up dumpster diving at a dealership that was getting them in and tearing off the nose cones and spoilers where he ended up with multiple sets and held on to them for the future when owners realized that the cars needed those parts again

Yes, the wing is that high so the trunk can open. That's the reason it got so big as they wanted it mounted to the rear quarters and have a smaller trunk opening.

8:20 Hemi was 426 ci, they had a 383, and a 440 in those days. i am guessing the car is a 383, and they also had a 6 pack on the 383. I don't know what these particular cars came with only the engines in those years. Good luck with the car

Steve can't lie, the first thing that went through my mind was to put Dinoco livery on it. To make it look like "The King". I also thought of Fast and Furious 6 where Dom (Vin Diesel) drop the car with Garnet Red paint and Chrome finish on the Grill and back. :)

He was curious if the spoiler's original design was potentially altered to clear the leading edge of the wing? Good question, however the car started life as a sketch on a blank white sheet of paper to the final product. I wouldn't think it would be very hard for them to alter the hinge to make it work properly. Actually I'm dumb. I bet they did design the wing around the open trunk. Wow that's a crazy observation. This guy blows my mind. He's just a down to earth individual with great taste in cars. I'm subscribing.

I love classic muscle cars. My dad and I built a 1972 Chevelle Malibu and changed it over to a super sport from canary yellow to intense blue, we put in a 350 small block with a Holley 650 double pumper with a high-rise intake and crager ss mags and fresh black leather interior… even had a working original cassette deck. Was a badass car till he had to sell it at auction 😞
