Hello,my girlfriend beggined to do uber eat deliveries,but she want to know if she need to apply for self employment?because she do like 2 hours a day,sometimes 1 hour and half..because we got a small baby,so she cant do more time deliveries..so normally i know you need to let know HMRC and do self employment if you earn more then 1000£..i am new in that,she dont worked before,so i want to know if i need to apply to she for self employment,and if yes,where and how?thank you

If she is on dependent visa then she is legally allowed to do self employment and any kind of business as per regulations. As you mentioned Uber eats comes under self employment then you don’t need to let know HMRC that you’re doing this because you’re allowed to do so. If Uber eats created on her name and she is on dependent visa then she can do full time or part whatever she wants.

If it’s through EU pre settlement scheme then definitely she is allowed to do more hours but if she is under work sponsorship pre settlement scheme then only 20 hours a weak is allowed to do so as per my knowledge brother. For more please also visit HMRC.gov.uk
