I have the exact same laptop and I'm getting much better fps in every game.. The real thing to do is to connect it to an external display like a monitor or a TV.. The laptop's screen is capped at using the integrated graphics.. So If you connect it to an external display, Games will run a lot better with more fps

Of course it's the G15 5515. The temperatures are correct and what you should expect after buying this laptop. I don't know what other KZbinrs are testing, sometimes producers send "special review units". Our unit is from someone who bought the laptop from a local retailer. What you see in our review is what you should expect after buying this laptop. Others users of this laptops have also confirmed that the CPU runs hot in this machine. All the tests were performed at an ambient temperature of 26° C (78.8° F).

@@fasterbaiter We tested several versions of the Nitro 5 and we can safely say it is not "way" better. It has better thermals, but not by much. Plus, the thermals of the G15 are not that bad either. The build quality of the Nitro 5 is inferior, the plastic feels cheap and keyboard is not that great. The G15 wins with better build quality, the Nitro 5 wins with better thermals and normal motherboard which makes upgrading easy.

I just got the Dell G15 5155 with the 5800H 130w 3060 and mux switch...it's such a powerful laptop, much faster than the one in this video.. but performance aside it's also.a really nice looking laptop, with a very nice keyboard with short strokes, It's up there as one of the best keyboards I've used including desktop ones... I love.the colour scheme too as it looks good with both windows.light and dark theme.. besides I'm bored of black laptops... So if budget doesnt cut it for the higher specced G15 ,you'll still love this one

Don't think so. I mean, for example, Intel CPUs give higher FPS than ryzen in warzone. FPS also depends on memory type for ryzen laptops . A lot of factors need to be accounted for to make a compelling conclusions.

Ryzen laptops have the 105C limit, Intel has 100C. Laptops are designed to never exceed this limit. It's almost impossible to exceed it. They will generally automatically reduce performance in order not to exceed the maximum safe temperatures. This laptop has ok temperatures.

That's because I wouldn't trust any other reviewers. We test our laptops like they are delivered from the retailers with default settings. Other reviewers often get special review units for free and try to make the laptop perform better so that they are sent other units in the future for free.

It's hard to say if the g15 thermal throttles since it always works above its base clock. In our testing, which went continuously for over 10 hours, the laptop performed within parameters. Of course, g15 may differ so other reviewers might have a different experience, however, we got our unit from a local shop, so it's what you should expect of you buy this laptop. Ips and wva are the same thing. Virtually all gaming laptops currently on the market use IPS-like displays. I think dell uses wva for inferior quality IPS displays.

Can you tell what stress test should I run on it in the first week as during that period if any problem appears then it can be replaced. I don't have access to any AAA title game as of now and won't be having them for the whole month. My best bet is running stress test or atmost I can download any game upto 50 GB (internet cap). So tell me which graphic intensive game should I run (download size under 50gb) to check the thermals and performance of the laptop. Cyberpunk, rdr2, gta v, Forza horizon 5, all are almost 75-100gb in size. Any other demanding game except these.

1. GPU power throttle is a limit implemented by the manufacturer for the gpu so it won't draw more power or get too hot. 2. We think that the power adapter is not enough for the laptop (the GPU cannot draw more power) and the cooling system cannot handle more degrees (if you have more power consumption you get more heat) 3. Yes this is hard limit on the maximum performance of the GPU, even if you re-paste with liquid metal you won't be able to draw more power , only if you use a modified bios or remove the limits 4. If the G15 5515 had enough cooling for unlimited power draw, the maximum performance gain should be around 30% 5. Yes pretty much all laptops have these limits. But some like the Legion Pro have it at way larger numbers. 6. You can bypass the limits by modding, but the max power draw of the charger cannot be enough for the machine. In order to have more power draw you need to also change the charger ( i do not recommend this, hardware is designed for certain values). 7. Unfortunately, I do not know. But is not worth it. Hope you find these answers useful.

I would suggest this over Victus. I wouldn't suggest this over Legion. Between the Nitro 5 and the G15, it's not a clear cut. The G15 is better built and has better temperatures, but it's very harder to upgrade.

@@kingkolly1863 Yes, I would say it's definitely worth the price difference if you ask me. In terms of raw performance, the Nitro 5 or the G15 should definitely outperform the Legion by at least 20%. The G15 would probably run the fastest if it had 16Gb of RAM. If it comes with 8GB, upgrading will be difficult.

In need of a new laptop and saw this. How is it, compared to others available on the market atm? Would you recommend this or another? Also can’t fully gauge how well a game really performs due to the lack of “actual” gameplay footage. Even on ur videos dedicating to the specific game, you do not get into any situations that can potentially cause fps drop. Ie ur mhw one, you just attack a few small monsters. Same with ur Genshin, just taking down some hilichurls (which even an iPhone 6s can run fine for, provided it needs to be done at lower graphics and will probably crash after taking down the camp). Hard to be impressed and be able to properly know how capable it is for running games when you don’t actually play it :/

I understand. The thing is, we only have the laptops for a few days and we can't do hours of gameplay with each game. However, besides gaming we also do a bunch of synthetic tests: noteb.com/?content/review.php?/2021/09/14/dell-gaming-g15-ryzen-edition-2021-review/ That being said, we didn't experience drops or stuttering in any of the games we tested. We also do a latency test in the section and overall the laptop performed ok. Overall, the laptop gets the job done but it's thermal performance is sub-par by comparison with other laptops on the market. This behaviour is to be expected given that the laptop is lighter and thinner than most other gaming laptops on the market in this price range. It's clear the laptop is designed to be more portable and better looking at the expanse of raw gaming performance. If you are student which takes their laptop to class every day and does some gaming on the side, this laptop should be pretty good. If you are looking for the best gaming performance, then you are better off with something else, like the Lenovo Legion 5 or the 2022 version of the Asus TUF.

Should be similar but with higher temperatures and high power usage. Make sure to get a dual-channel laptop or upgrade later to 16Gb. For proper gaming in 2022 you want 16 gb of ram.

You should always play while charging. If you don't the performance is almost halved. Most modern batteries have some sort of protection, that do not allow them to charge to 100% and degrade overtime.

Yes, the laptop has 2 slots, but it's every hard to upgrade. You need to take the laptop apart to upgrade the RAM.

Nothing wrong with GTA 5, I had a GTX 1080 which couldn't do 60FPS+ in GTA V on max settings and 1440p. The game is highly optimised for medium and high settings, but not for very high and max. You can increase FPS but eliminating anti-aliasing.
