For me it came to this: DELL: Cheaper, supports 2.5 inch drive so I can put in my 1tb 850EVO SSD HP: Slightly lighter, less flex in keyboard, better battery life.

I have HP Spectre x360 (QHD, i7, 8gb RAM, 512gb storage). It is the most beautiful laptop I have ever seen. It's better than Macbook Pro Retina in my opinion. It's just as fast and gorgeous as Retina. I think HP is faster but that's just my opinion.

Matt its not... well the graphics at least (iris in the apple i think). Rather have the hp too though for the convertible modes. Still rocking a yoga here till skylake comes out.

I have both the Dell and 360. I love the 360 it is above all the best laptop I ever bought. The brushed metal and weight is beautiful. The speed of the 360 i7 is incredible. It is such a pleasure to use as it is so quick and the battery life is amazing. The Dell is good and I gave it to my daughter since she does not use it for high end usage. Again after owning both I would buy another Spectre if I ever need a new laptop. Ever, just in love with this laptop.

To be honest, of all these convertible laptops, I think the Lenovo Thinkpad Twist implemented the best and most sensible design, albeit an old design. With the current convertibles to use it as a tablet, you have to flip the screen while over holding the laptop and then you have the keyboard area exposed while holding it. With the Lenovo Thinkpad Twist, the screen just twists around, lies flat and the keyboard is underneath the display and your hands hold the bottom of the laptop.

In my opinion the longer battery life of the Spectre is the biggest point that makes me more attracted to it over the Inspiron, despite it having more for the same price (Core i7 for $1000 configuration). Anyway, thanks for this comparison, it was really helpful in my case.

great review as always, i love how honest you compare two machines without dissing or lobbing one or the other vendor. hp did so much right with this machine: working with microsoft, great design, great performance (no core m cpu), great design. the closest to perfect i´ve seen so far.

Which laptop brand has the best 1080p display? Are HP displays better? I also want good speakers & sound for listening to music and audio in videos/movies. Lots of questions, I know. I want to know which one is, in your opinion built to last longer? I don't want it to have to be replaced in 3 years because it dies or the hard drive fails or something. Each of them is asking a pretty penny for top performance. I'm leaning toward Dell, but I'm concerned about long term durability from either. Not in build but in actual function.

dell inspiron 13 7000 series does NOT support the dell active stylus. I bought the inspiron 13 7353 and after speaking with dell tech support, updating all firmwares and trouble shooting, reading numerous message boards with people having the same problem, the dell active stylus simple does not work. theres a common theory that dell quietly change the type of touchscreen on the 7000 series, or the dell active stylus tech changed. i bought the dell specifically to be able to use the stylus based on MobileTechReview demonstrating the stylus. today i returned my dell and got the HP spectra 360 and to my delight, the dell active stylus worked flawlessly.

Does anybody know what type of screwdriver she's says at 7:22? I think for the HP she says "torx" or "torque" and for the Dell she says something that sounds like "Bill Ted," "build 10," maybe "Philips head" (this would be my best guess, since Philips is a brand). I don't really know anything about types of screwdrivers so I can't even really guess, but "Philips head" would be my best guess.

I picked up one of the 13" Inspirons (i7 model with 8 GB RAM) and it has been thoroughly disappointing. I had to return the first one for being defective and the replacement that I was given is also faulty. I've wasted so much time with Dell Support, yet I'm no closer to having a usable computer.

They should add like a locking-turning hinge, the turning of the screen would allow for the keyboards to hide into the chassis and lock there.

Why no one talk about the persistent problem Dell Inspiron has, which is a static noise when ever you change your audio source? Could someone help me out? I'm torn on ssd and hdd. I have 5 year old Mac and it holds like 315 gb of space. I've almost used it all up. So does that mean 256 go ssd on either of the laptops wouldn't be enough space for me? I love both laptops. hp is all ssd and Dell offers this laptop with 1tb of storage and core i7. I really don't know what to do. Someone please help.

I think with the dell you can also upgrade an Ssd into the system (along with your hdd). What most people do tho is buy an Ssd laptop and get an external hard disk cuz ssd don't offer a lot in terms of storage capacity.

I ended up getting the 13-7000 special edition on a great sale, but the 4.5hr battery life and slooooow response [i7 and 8G ram cant run Dragon Naturally Speaking without crashing in 30mins, really?) have me returning it. Shame I really liked the 2-in-1 and vertical tablet mode in this unit.

I have this laptop , and let me tell you the truth. The specs on paper is spectacular but do those specs convert into an equally usable laptop ? not really I have the dell inspiron 7000 series 13 inch 2 in 1 laptop with Intel i7 processor But it is incredibly slow ! and also the build quality is really really pathetic , it feels like a cheap plastic laptop. the top part above the screen bends under light pressure and might even break .. coz cheap plastic body! Its not that cheap to have such bad quality materials into it ! When i received the laptop the touchscreen stopped working in 3 days after replacing it under warranty the screen tht they installed started flickering after a day of use , after replacing it again , there was a charging problem, this all happened in s span of withing 5 months of purchase , after the second screen replace I had to settle down for a screen which is tinted yellow on the edges , coz lets face it you can only have patience to get your laptop repaired n number of times. And the screen , if you use the laptop il low light you can actually see light leaking from gaps between the screen and the casing , reminds me of cheap plastic toys you would buy at a fair for a cheap price. Given that the laptop was never 100% satisfactory in terms of performance i did not wish to renew the whooping price ( 1/5th ) the laptop price as a fee for extending my warranty for another year. In all this laptop is not worth it at all , you will get mac books for cheaper and they would be better in terms of speed and design and would not look like a cheap peace of plastic regret. Oh and one more thing , it stains easy , and takes its own time to even open a simple folder , my grandma would climb 6 floors before this thing can f**ing open a folder. And as for the touch ... you wouldn't use it coz it doesn't quiet bend all the way in a nice way . there will still be some gap , and more often than not , u never know the touch might stop working and you might have to pay heavy bills for repair. i has dell inspiron 14 which is like 6 years old . with 2 gb ram and a dual core processor , i got it for 30k and this for 70k . any day better than this laptop. Me and my friend got the same laptop at the same time and we both faced same kind of problems. I don't know if the quality of dell has deteriorated over the years , of these companies just don't care anymore about the customer coz they are too busy competing with each other that thy just produce shitty products and over price it and people put their hard earned money to it , coz you market the product to be this cutting edge technology and shit . but its all just a big lie. I guess dell also was not able to cover their cost of customer complaints that they withdrew this product out of the market. At-least Samsung had the decency to apologize for their exploding edge 7 and withdraw it . Dell just released this shit , did aggressive marketing , fooled their customers into buying it and shut their doors after their stock was over.
