It has a hinge problem.... My dad bought this for me to use in college after almost 1yr plus, one day opening it in class the left hinge broke off and cracked the bottom left screen. In the dell discussion sites other people have similar problems but in shorter time frames(few months) and also have the same hinge problems.

True. I wonder why this product does not get recalled. My hinge broke within warranty, need technician come to my home to replace the hinges. Technician told me never open this laptop more than 90 degrees. It is hard to use. I like it open wide to put on lap, but it is not supposed to open wide or flat, it will break the hinge again. It is frustrating cause the advertise picture shows like it can open wide. Also, i don't see any instructions saying never open it over 90 degrees and it will break the hinge. I regret buying it and want to return it every day, but too late.

Don't buy this computer, the hinges are plastic that will break. I regret buying this computer. It's not worth it even at cheaper price. Dell will not stand by it. I guess there is a class action lawsuit against Dell.

Dell is now denying warranty for "Accidental Damage" for things like the power port failing. Their hinges are an issue for sure, but the power port design and/or installation fails when the solder connection separates inside the device. This will cause the power to disconnect then reconnect and eventually will not allow charging. My unit was 10 months old when this started to become an issue. Dell Warranty department told me that plugging in, and unplugging the power adapter is cause for failure and is "ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE" and therefore not covered. They also told me that an issue I was experiencing with the mouse pad was due to using the laptop on my lap?? They have fallen to new lows with ways to scam the consumer.

The hinge has some problems for sure, I have an Inspiron 15 5510 from a couple years ago with the same hinge design. A minor issue that's pretty likely is the rubber feet coming off, but it can also break your laptop if your chassis bottom plate is loose.

The hinge seems to be a design flaw and I hope the product gets recalled. Unlike many other latops, this one can only open to a bit more than 90 degrees, and cannot be unfolded more, definitely not flat. The hinge cracked after several months and needs to be repaired under warranty.

Inspiron 3000 is the series, where as 3520 is the model within that series. If the specs are similar/same you can assume it's the same machine (with possible minor variations).

i've had this laptop for over a year now and its battery is INCREDIBLY BAD, it drains from 100 to 60 in like 20 minutes from just a few chrome tabs open, once i had file explorer open and i wasnt even using my laptop, it went from 100 to 0 in less than 2 hours. Does anyone else have an issue similar to this or is it just an issue with my unit? EDIT: the battery has been like this since the day i bought it (also its a 3515 not a 3520 but theyre basically identical)

16 GB Max but I wouldn't recommend you to buy this laptop. The model I have is the old one Which has Hinge issue common problem in Dell Inspiron 15 3000+ model, I hope they fixed this issue in the new one.

for what i've could research, i'm reviewing this notebook for myself, it doesn't support 2.5 hard drive, only M.2, despite having three M.2 slots, i could confirm with Dell support you can upgrade the default SSD disk, since i don't need two of them and 256GB is fine, i didn't push to know wether or not we can use remaining M.2 slots for SSD disks

The hinges! Be prepared to spend a good amout of money around 1-2times a year when those tacky plastic hinges break into small pieces, making your laptop unusable. Since they are a part of the plastic cover, the whole set needs to be replaced when a hinge goes bust. I had mine replaced twice in 18 months, despite my best care. The engineering team responsible for this s**tty design should be fired. Actually, these laptops should be recalled and replaced.
