Anyone having issues with the DVD drive removal - he does this off camera - you flip the laptop upside down so that you are looking at the bottom. Then go to the battery bay. Near where the silver screw was you should see a portion of the DVD drive (its kind-of angled). You can take a screw driver (Phillips head) or flat metal tool like he has and push it out with a like strength. Easiest way to do this.

This is a crazy ordeal to go through to upgrade the RAM. On the dvd removal, there's a piece of metal that shows at a 45 degree angle in the battery compartment; once all the screws are removed you push that piece of metal with a screwdriver per the instructions molded into the plastic.

Take it slow, don’t miss any screws. The actual backplate removal was really the only scary part, but once it get started it pops out pretty easy. Don’t forget to thread the ribbon cable back through the frame first before you put the backplate back on!
