Great video, thank you. Please advise on the specifications. I plan to reassemble and then determine my next step? I have been trying to determine the numbers on my nephew's fiancée's Dell Laptop: I have been trying to search for the specifications, but I know it is a Dell Inspirion 15 5000 series, I think it is a 2-in-1; however, I did not try to flip it into a tablet before I disassembled it. The nomenclature I found was new to me [Reg Model P58F, Reg Type No - P58F001. My nephew told me that this laptop has been repaired twice because of HDD problems, once under warranty and once out of warranty (?): the laptop would not bootup to the operating system. I attempted to bootup the laptop, but it would not - the Dell Bios (?) screen popup message stated something about the hard drive [I forgot to take a photo]. I inserted the SATA Drive into my BlacX Duet and the WD Blue MDL:WD10SPZX-75Z10T2 was not recognized. I also checked the memory and I was concerned if it is the correct memory card? The memory bank is covered with a illustration labeling identifying the memory as DIMM1/DDR4 and DIMM2/DDR4 only: the memory is a Samsung memory card, K02C00082523062E91 1825 4GB 1Rx16 PC4-2400T-SCO-11 M471A5244BB0-CRC

To find the exact model and warranty you would need a service tag. With the service tag you will find warranty info and everything else.

I noticed the barcode and a number 24403371086 on the top row the Service Tag (S/N) B7L4XN2, MFG YR 2018 EXPRESS SERVICE CODE Other than the barcode and mfg. year the rest of the nomenclature is new to me. I guess I need run a search on the barcode, service tag and service code?

@@regazzz Thank you, I have learned much more about this laptop. Any recommendations? Everything I tried does not resolve the booting problem, which I think that there isn't a operating system on this Inspiron 15 5578 2-in-1 laptop/tablet. I am suspect of the Dell diagnostics because it shows the HDD 0-0-0 and the O/S File 0-0-0 and yet it identifies the HDD serial number. The HDD is a 1TB WD-Blue and approximately 70GB of something is on the HDD. I try to install Windows 10 and I receive a pop-up message that Windows 10 cannot be installed on this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu. I am befuddled in resolving this problem. A few reasons why I don't like it; 1) there isn't a ethernet port for direct connect to the route, 2) there isn't a CD/DVD player; thus I connect my Memorex CD/DVD Writer 8x! I ran the diagnostics and it has been unreliable in my opinion because the diagnostics results in "No hardware problems", and also received "could be corrupt OS image or boot device is not enabled in Bios Setup argh$#%#$#^.

@@PappyNet01 If I would get this laptop without knowing what is happening and try to install operating system, after a failed attempt you got there, I as well would switch an HDD to a known working SSD or another HDD drive and try again. If you made some changes in bios, I would revert it to factory settings if possible. Obviously check if the drive is visible in the bios. If you can get a bios, the memory card is fine. Yeah, new laptops without Ethernet and CD drive sucks. All goes towards wireless and streaming... You can plug in Ethernet via USB to Ethernet adapter.
