Can you tell what is the theoretical lifetime of this computer, or where I can find it out? I have one of these: it beeps 7 times when I tried to start it, then it pauses, and then it keeps doing it again, while the screen stays black, and it will not start. I tried to warm it up for 10 minutes, as someone suggested on youtube, but it did not start.

I have this dell laptop & I love it. Recently I've been having problems when I reposition the screen for better viewing then my screen goes completly white. Sometimes I have to turn it on & off multiple times before I can get it to boot and turn back on properly. Why is this happening esp when its only 2 yrs old? Please help

I have this one and it hasn't had any problems at all. It runs games really well. The only time it lags is when I have it on max performance on Red Alert Generals and Red Alert 3, which are quite high on the graphics, so it's expected to have some problems but I was rather impressed with most games on it. Runs good and hasn't overheated or anything. would definatly reccomend for anyone not wanting an extremly high quality gaming laptop.

I have it, it can run portal at a max of 46 fps, so it should be able to run minecraft at around 60 fps

i can run SWTOR on mine, thats all that matters to me, i have to play on the lowest settings with a lag depending on what planet or area im in, which im fine with for the most part, im thinking about switching out the RAM for the minimum RAM i need for the game :)

Be forewarned, these models have faulty processors. Mine failed within two years of having this laptop. I had the processor AND the system board replaced and it still failed on me after a couple of weeks of being replaced. They are notorious for this problem.

very disappointed with my Dell 5030 which I've had for 2years and,despite visits to 3 IT shops who gave it a clean bill of health still underperforms and just doesn't do what it's supposed to....shall be chucking it into father Thames tomorrow!

Why would you want to disable a track pad u ask well it is because people with big hands use mouses and disabling the track pad allows me to stretch my hand all the way across the keyboard

Yes you can, this guy is wrong about it maxing out a 6gb! My brother removed the 3gb of rame and had no problems installing 8gb. Runs great, boots up fast also!^^ Im still using it atm, got it few years back and it's holding up quite well. Runs most of my steam games, just the few FPS game i can only run are Counter strike: Source and Wolfenstein like butter!

hey i have the same p.c i play Minecraft 9 fps what you need to do is buy a good sd card and readyboost the sd card. if you don't know how to do that put in to youtube how to readyboost a sd card i went up to 128 fps (I got a 64 gb sd card)

the keys are the best i have use the lid is SO strong and my battery last's for 5h and you can upgrade it to 64 gb of ram the only down is that when you connect to a monitor the quality is BAD

This is the N5030. For those of you that have any sort if Inspiron or are planning to get one, they have a problem with shutting of randomly and many people are upset with many models of the Inspiron for this reason. If you have this laptop and are looking for gaming quality it will run fine on low graphics but if it gets too hot the laptop will shut down every thirty minutes or so while gaming. I do not recommend this laptop to gamers. Good Luck.

Well, it performed poorly when it came to gaming, I got around 15 fps on TF2. The motherboard design is poor: "Who puts the CPU away from the fan?!?" Mine's CPU fried just recently after having it for a little more than a year.

This is more like a Craptop, if you get the 7 beeps your screwed dont try to fix it just get a new one, this laptop is not worth the money and hassle, warranty lasts about a year, computer lasts a year and a half, Dell used to be a good company but it pulled its production out of North Carolina and moved to china and Foxconn, i will never buy a dell ever again, buy a toshiba, hp, or lenovo
