Regarding upgrading the GPU, is the only limiting factor the height? I have read numerous reports that the PCI-e port on those machines delivers 25w whereas GPUs can draw up to 75w.

As soon as a dedicated gpu is put in the pcie x16 slot, it must be recognized automatically on the next boot. I put the same gpu in my dell inspiron 620s last year and it's been running great so far.

I tried installing the Radeon 7550 in my optiplex 970 SFF, but the PC does not complete bootup. It says boot process has halted and that the newly installed card and onboard graphics can't be used at the same time. That's fine...I don't need to run both. But I could not find any information on how to disable the integrated graphics. There is nothing in the BIOS to control it. Disabling it in Windows 10 does not change anything. Just looking for options. Is there a way to disable the onboard card, or should it even need to be disabled? Am I SOL?

The graphic card says 300W but recommended but also its very low consumer i don't planing to play extreme games but i think this graphic should not be problem but no sure

First i see all making mistake but not knowing the power supply voltage. Even if the graphic card is compatible the power supply is very low on this model 235W 255W or 305W but my question is will GT 710 low profile will be compatible not sure which one is mine i think 235W or 255W the graphic card says works on 19 to 25 W depends on the forums i've read but also says minimum PSU of 300 and if mine is below 300W and also if is not true power that's even last so can i use this card anyone knows?
