Omg...I had not noticed that part of the side tray for the HDD could be removed to allow for longer video cards....I was restricting myself to 21.5 cms for new video cards but this allows for so much more space. THANK YOU

I got a T3500 for 40€ a few months back. Upgraded the CPU to a X5675, the RAM to 24GB and threw in a SSD and GTX970. Really happy with it as my secondary rig now. Great video btw.

Yes I had to get a splitter cable since the PSU only had one 6 Pin connecter and the GTX970 needs two. But changing the PSU would work too since it's not proprietary

How important is the chipset cooler? I just bought a t3500 with Xeon w3565 CPU and want to upgrade it with an MSI RX570 Armor 8GB OC. I saw in several videos that rear fans were installed and also 80mm fan was mounted to the 0U016F CPU cooler. Depending on how temperatures will look like, I will do those cooling upgrades. But this is the only source showing additional chipset cooling. Can you comment why you used it? Is it maybe depending on the CPU (you have 6-core)?

I installed the GTX 1080, and it works great! However the side of the T3500 case gets very warm where the air comes out of the graphics card heat sinks, and I notice the GPU temp is 87C with the case cover on, 83C with it off. Is this a concern since the hot outcoming air is hitting the side of the case and doesn't have a great place to "flow"?

So my question is what Xeon are you running, I am getting thevw3690 setup soon and I glad to see that this system can get extra cooling and a great video card , but what u plan to do is upgrade to a better country cooler I heard Cosair has a good one , so that cooler does the trick for you not to much heat on CPU?? Yes 525w is enough on load with gtx 1070 video card system using around 280W while gaming. i am not sure if rx580 will work with this system, i never tested.

SLI will not be worth the money. RX570 or RX480 will cost the same as a second 770, and will give you a better experience.

It will work fine. GPU power requirements as listed by the manufacturer are always exaggerated, while Dell PSUs, particularly in their workstations are underrated.
