Thanks a lot. I took my device apart and thought I would order the fan unit to replace it. Unfortunately, I left the device open for a few months and forgot where all the screws belong. Thanks to your video, I can now finally put everything back together.

Great video, thanks! Wanted to change my SSD. Saw a tutorial on XPS 7390 and it was soooo simple. Open the computer, change the SSD! So I opened the computer... and search for the SSD without success :D On 7390 2 in 1, I thought it would be the same... Not at all!! Thanks to you, I know I just have to buy a new laptop!

Whoa thank you so much for guide! This laptop is so complicated to disassemble, thank you for your very accurate guide!! I'm having issues with the GPU fan and I should replace it. I can't really use the 1Y warranty provided by Dell because this laptop was bought in Canada and not in France where I'm living... Dell consumer services are so bad, it's impossible to talk to someone skillful by phone, at least in France.

@@ItsBinhRepaired Thank you! Didn't wanted to take the risk to open the fan to put lubricant inside, the blades are sooo fragile. I've just sent air on it until it spins correctly. It's not the cleanest way to do it for sure but it works! I have repasted it, Dell put such shitty thermal paste... I couldn't have done it without your video, thank you!

@@yuzhousong3494 I decided to do it by myself. The only tricky part for me was to remove the black box on the mother board, otherwise it's quite easy! I didn't replace the fan, I try to blow some air on it until it spins correctly, it seems to work! If you want to change your fan you will have to open everything and even repaste it!

Can the fans be bought seperately? One of them started rattling (again) and last time Dell replaced the whole mainboard unit under warranty to fix a rattling fan. Now that I'm out of warranty I want to replace them myself, but I have a hard time to find the replacement parts. For my XPS15 9550 and XPS13 9370 it wasn't a problem. BR

Just did the fans. Had 3 screws per side of each fan. 6 screws per fan. Then cable. Then it slid out.

Just to add that you should NEVER use a METAL pry tool on this machine as this will in every case damage the casing - you should use a plastic pry tool which is designed to damage itself before any damage is done to the device you are dismantling.

You should WATCH my thousands of videos. I usually use my fingernails to pry computers open. The casing wasn't damaged, so your "in every case" comment was wrong in every case.

@@ItsBinhRepaired nevertheless is not good practice to use metal pry tools on laptops. you have a lot of experience, for those who dont, use plastic tools , less chance of damage or even shorting something out. Great video though, helped me alot . these laptops are not easy to work on.

@@ShorrockPaul this is similar to saying new chefs should use plastic knives so they don't cut themselves or damage the cutting boards. Learn to follow instructions carefully and you'll be fine.

Hi, I tried to clean the fans (because they are running crazy all of a sudden) and used your Video to get to them. I cleaned them and put everything back in place. Then I turned it on, the fans still loud as a windy storm, and turned it off again. After this I can't turn my laptop on anymore. 😅 Do you have any ideas how to rescue my laptop? I did like you said and the fans are working again. Unfortunately the touchpad decided not to function anymore 😂 Plus, the laptop started working again but when I put back the cover on it, it didn't turn on by pressing the power button. im trying to see someone replace the touchpad without replacing the whole palm rest, looks like dell replaces the whole palm rest assembly with touch pad already attached as per there service manual, as it might damage it easy im guessing,

Hey Binh, thank you for this video, have you had any issues with this laptop's keyboard stopping to work randomly and then when you flip the screen it starts to work again? I had dell replace the keyboard and rails and this would still happen until recently the keyboard died completely, any suggestions?

By any chance the 2 screw holes for the torx screws (T5) closes the to the hinge replaceable? The 2 screws holding the bottom plate has come loose and stripped from just opening and closing the screen. Are they part of the palm rest assemble or a separate plate.

35:00 OH GOD I'm getting Verge flashback. More thermal paste, please! You're putting it directly on the die, not the IHS the line method doesn't really apply. More is better in this situation. It can flow over since nothing is surrounding the die. Also doesn't spread is unless it's liquid paste otherwise you're making it worse. Ugh, the cringe level rn is unreal.
