Hey Dayo! Glad to see you back making videos. I trust you are doing well. I'm considering this new design language from Dell for my XPS 13 9300 upgrade. I just hope Dell adds a 1080P webcam, and a higher refresh rate screen (at least 90hz) before I upgrade. If they bring this design over to a 15", I'll consider that too.

I would be a bit cautious since its first generation and there is a lot of cool stuff that hasn't been proven yet, like the glass touchbar and the glass trackpad. More updates to the display and webcam would be nice, but only time will tell!

I bought one and love it!! 1TB HD, 32 Gig Ram, I7 processor. Got it at best buy open box for $1k in perfect condition. I think I did good! What is your go top virus protection?

I also might be the only user editing off a 256GB M1 MacBook Air :) The battery life wasn’t stellar but it got me through most of my tasks off the charge which was about 3-5 hours. If I’m out and about I probably wouldn’t do anything more than 3 hours so I was happy with it.

Dell has been known to have long term issues as of late. This is a first generation product so if the complaints are many, I would hold off till next year

Yes Graphite is the better color and that was a good review. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is getting junk emails from Norton and McAfee. I think that Norton got hacked. One question though, How do you deal with a 13" screen? I have a 15" and can't go any lower than that.

1. Why is McAfee still active on the device?! 2. Gorilla Glass is not SLAM PROOF! OMG what would you do slamming your laptop closed and glass shatters your trackpad and you are forced to use a Mouse 3. The Sponsor insert waa quite funny. 4. I ordered early Friday, already delivered Saturday less than 1 hr ago ! 5. My unit is in production, the builder contacts me on each of their breaks to give me an update- they hope to finish building by Monday. 6. Best Buy has it for $400 off. Dell price matched. Plus DPA discount I'll come out just under $1500 for a $2200 machine 7.

@@DayoAworunse What I appreciate is you make judgment calls here. Like, I was caught between the color choice, and you share concrete insights and then said you recommend XYZ. Whereas, everyyyyy other review website these days cannot make a choice without an insane amount of qualifications/disclaimers. Can the light of the touchbar be turned off ? Or does the light get very low ? If not, night use will be a headache.

The gestures on Mac are king? Idk, nothing beats the Windows 3 finger swipe, so much snappier and more functional than Macs gestures. For me, the touchbar is a deal breaker, I don't want to alternate between physical feedback and touch during my normal use, e.g. having the delete as a touch key is so annoying when typing large texts. Also, the price is ridiculous, they really ship 8GB of RAM starting at €1900 lmao, that's an insult. To get decent specs with this (1260P, 16GB RAM, 3.5K display,), I'd have to pay €2300 and it still doesn't include a really powerful CPU nor a good (i)GPU. That's just a luxury device with no use except looking good at this point. I completely disagree that 1080p is enough at this screen size, coming from a Surface Book which had 3000x2000 in 2015 (!) already, paying over €2000 for a 1080p display in 2022 is crazy. The productivity and sharpness you lose is not just a missing luxury, it's a major distinction.

Hey thank you for the video, i have only one question, and that is: Does this device (the 1260P or 1280P cpu version), do good enough for Premier Pro workflow? I am not planning to put 8K raw footage or anything, just normal 4K 100MBps or 1080 at that bitrate and do some editing and color grading using a dock in the future. Also does it thermal throttle HARD that you cannot work with it or not? I know you may answer that i should go for a 15" laptop like XPS15 or other options, but i want the design and portability of this device and the only thing that comes close is Macbook Air which again throttles on the cpu side. I think it will throttle to some extent, however you can switch thermal profiles to high performance and I believe that prevents some of the throttling. However, I usually don't think editing video using integrated graphics are the best... It's possible if it's light editing like it seems you're doing.

Touchbar exists only due to thermal limits, thats how the device is able to handle those Intel chips

suggest 3 new laptops that still have the cheapest and most complete official warranty at what price and what brand do you think "? At least look for specs: i5/r5, 8gb ram (no empty slot), 256/512ssd (no empty slot) with score read2200/write1500, nvidia/vega rx, screen 14"/15.6" fhd ips, thankyou

To be honest, i have used Dell laptops and many other windows Laptops ,But dont know why, after 1 - 2 years its performance goes down. Hence i switched to Macbook it stays in good performance for very long time.

that is weird, I have a dell xps 13 from 2015, and have used it daily for ~10h/day every single day (either work or entertainment). I just ordered the new xps 13 plus because it's high time I change, however my laptop is still incredibly well performing. It's true for the past 6 months (since getting a new update) it gets slow when opening multiple apps. But after 7y? I'll take it. I've had a msi that lasted me 3y and just died out, and before that another brand I don't even remember that lasted 3 as well. My wife has a macbook air that lasted her 5, now it only works plugged, and is slow af. I guess anecdotal evidence doesn't really help with longevity. But I'll still try my luck with the new Dell because it's a powerhouse in a 13inch !

Since it’s glass, there’s a chance of it cracking, but as my guess is as long as you don’t crack the center portion, you’re good. To replace it? Probably expensive.

I've been given this laptop for work. Absolute beauty. Immensely powerful. A true beauty. The 3 problems I have with it are - 1. It has an Intel SoC. That means it can run hot, fans spin up and battery life is mid [my M1 Max 14' MBP blows it out of the water vis a vis battery life]. 2. The Webcam truly is shit. For this price, a 1080p is non-negotiable. 3. 60Hz is truly dumb at this point. 90Hz or 120Hz should be standard. My MacBook [which I purchased with my own money] triumphs in all these aspects. But the XPS is still king [for me]. Ngl, that sponsor joke caught me. Hilarious af 😂
