Your way of explain things in detail, your equipment and your enthusiasm shows how good you are. I'd lots of dell's laptops. The thing that surprised me about that tape is that if you stick another piece over another, they'll actually connect through the adhesive. I've been building a model train layout using this tape for the power bus, and the only soldered connections go to the track, the tape following a convoluted route under the board.

In order to detect a shorted FET measure the resistance from gate to source, 99% when there is a short over the source and drain, will take the gate also, so you can measure in the circuit wit many transistors in parallel.

Great job. Explained clearly and precisely. I did see the 1st vid. Either or, but I do like to use solder wick to fix repairs like that. You can flood it with solder and it still stays flat. I have had more success that way.. I use copper and aluminium tape as a heat shield instead of Kapton tape. You can also use cut up fizzy drinks cans. they can be shaped and re-used. Keep the videos coming. Thank-you.

I'm truly impressed! However, I don’t quite understand why those coils don’t have heat sinks, as they appear to run quite hot. I'm sure the customer will appreciate this improvement. It genuinely makes me happy to help keep electronics out of landfills. Could you consider including root cause analysis theory in your videos? I’m not looking to assign blame, as electronics are subject to various factors. For instance, you can’t always tell if someone is using a non-water-resistant device in highly humid conditions or in extremely dry, hot, or cold environments.

Some cars use braided wire for high-current 12v DC grounding. I have seen it between the engine and body on some cars. There may be some flexibility and EMI concerns too. I don't know if that is appropriate for any laptop situation.

Northwest Repair with GPUs and this guy with Dell laptops are at the top of the game, I watched all others, even in Spanish language! The DrMOS and coil passed the stress test for a long time at 200W. I bet that coil will never get over 70 °C, neither arcing, remember it's handling an electrical current of 30A at least. AND he's gifting it while giving warranty.

Great repair. I saw someone rebuilding a pad with that copper tape on KZbin shorts and I suppose it does actually work well in some cases. I'm curious, though - this laptop is pretty old at this point, almost 10 years. How much did you charge for the repair? Surely the price isn't cheap and a newer model as a replacement may have been a better option for them. But if the repair was less than $200, maybe not.
