A good webinar for a computer engineering major like me. Thanks Jim. I already got my Rasp 3..

Not strictly Delphi on Raspi, you are installing Android on the device and then creating an FMX and deploying that app to the device. Unlike Lazarus which can actually be installed on Raspi 2/3

Hi ! If I use Raspberry Pi3 and Android, how can I access GPIO interface? Thank You in advance.

You cant.

Thank you for interesting tutorial!

Sadly 5 years later Delphi does not support Raspian, and you cannot access the GPIO. Reading and writing the GPIO is the whole point of using Raspberry Pi.

Can we compile for Raspbian OS with RAD studio? or am i stucked in QT :/
@petrobox6 жыл бұрын
You can´t. Theres no Delphi compiler for raspberry pI. Stop fake publicity, Embarcadero . If you like to run and promote a real app build with Delphi running on RPI just do a linux arm compiler. Stop lying.

@David Cornelius 95% of the Pi community uses Linux based operating systems on Pi. It is easy to customize images using Yocto and build efficient embedded applications using it. You can use rich peripherals such as GPIO, I2C, SPI, Timers, UART, DMA, Interrupts and easily add external devices such as ADC, DAC.. You cannot do any of this on an Android since there is no official support to Android on a Pi ( www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=71658 ) Embarcadero should stop pushing developers to wrong direction and if they really want to gain community, they should do it with a proper way, and add an option to develop Linux Apps on ARM processor like Lazarus.

Delphi sucks on this topic, use Lazarus which supports Raspberry Pi directly.
@baseptr3 жыл бұрын
@David Cornelius I mean that you can install Lazarus IDE directly on a Raspberry Pi OS and develop/debug/run native apps on a PI. Delphi still doesn't support Linux platforms on ARM as of 2021.
@baseptr3 жыл бұрын
@David Cornelius Well you don't have to use Pi as an development machine. Lazarus supports cross-compiling as well. But this is not the main point makes Delphi sucks on the topic. The problem of the Delphi is that you can develop Linux App but only targets intel x64 instructions. "You can not develop apps for Raspberry Pi OS in Delphi" which makes Delphi sucks on this topic. There is no any other option for Delphi developers to use Lazarus if they intent to make an application runs on Linux platform with an ARM processor such as RPi.
