It makes a lot of sense that Delta has the largest 757 fleet when you consider that it was the only type common to both Delta and Northwest when they merged.

Really enjoyed your vid as always. I was born and raised in Atlanta so have been flying Delta all my life. I live in D.C. now and still only fly Delta when flying home to visit family and friends. When you were describing the airport in St Louis it seemed as if you were describing some of the characteristics of DCA in Washington albeit a much smaller airport. I must admit I love the smallness of DCA, not complicated in it’s layout, relatively easy to get through security and very quick and easy to get to one’s gates.

I think the reason the 757 is such a great aircraft is that it is a bridge between the narrow body and the wide body jets. It has a single aisle in between two rows of seating while having the ability to carry over 200 passengers.

Delta have the best maintenance and caring hangars in the world. You might think their fleets like the 757’s look like new but doesn’t. They cleaned and put new parts and polished their aircrafts to look like new. Delta also does maintenance work for other airlines too

I"m smiling at your use of the world 'epic'--an epic takeoff,epic wing vortices! What is not being mentioned is how you got to St Louis--would think you drove but from Champaign? I hope you had a hotel somewhere along the way if you're at STL at the ungodly hour of 230am! What was 'cooler' than the shiny wing was flying under a previous aircraft's flight path (conspiracy theorists would label it 'chemtrails') Haven't been through ATL since 2014 connecting to IAH( flight is on my channel) TUS-ATL-IAH--you begin your journey in CT, fly to ATL (ET) and on to DAL (CT)--looking forward to the 717 segment! As I call Chicago home in my heart, no doubt it amused you seeing that ad for Illinois as you went down the escalator!

Took the Greyhound bus leaving Champaign at 9pm and reaching STL around 12am. We had a long wait time in the airport.

Still find it crazy how interchangeable the 757-200, 757-300 and 767-300 are at DL. I've seen the 753 swapped out for a 763 and vice versa many times.

I miss when TWA was the hub and headquarter in at STL and remember all day busiest full of TWA’s planes going and coming almost the entire TWA fleet model including the L-1011’s

I love the fact that Delta doesn't want to retire their old 757s, 767s, A319s, and A320s. They just want to keep them for as long as possible. I flew Delta when I was younger, but on a CRJ900 under Delta Connection. I was invited to the cockpit after landing because the pilots in Europe didn't want to wave at me.

@@CTravelsAviation The way I see it is it's what's on the inside that counts from a passenger perspective, and that cabin refurbishments are cheap, while new planes are expensive. Whether you're on a 1 year old A220 or a 30 year old 757, you're going to get pretty much the same product with Delta. I'm not saying never get any new planes, but there's also nothing wrong with continuing to fly planes that are over 30 years old as long as they are safe and well maintained.

Yeah for sure 😂 I saw Delta flying the 757 from there or Indianapolis so it was one or the other…STL had better bus timings from Champaign so that’s why I went from there.

Delta never had the 300 variant until they merged with Northwest. Only Northwest and Continental used the pencil.. I worked for Delta and Northwest.

Fantastic flight report! Wish I could fly the 757 but it's very rare to find a flight just in Europe (I believe Jet2 only flies it here) Also what equipment do you usually use to film flight reports?
