Delta has the mindset of a trained Soldier or Marine with combat experience. The fear of death in combat is what will keep a Soldier alert, and have full situational awareness at all times. Their attention to detail about doing PCCs and PCIs allows them to trust their gear so they can focus on the enemy instead. Not only fearing death for themselves, but the fear of also getting someone else killed keeps them sharp and alert. Soldiers who have fully embraced that they'll just die in any moment will let their guard down when they're at peace.... which will make them a liability if they're around other squad members. That being said... Delta is just way too innocent and pure outside of everything combat related. Well if you don't count the ramen noodles thing....
