I was watching a farmer who owed half his bean acres and left his other half not plowed. He did this for two years already. Last year the plowed acres yielded 10. Bushels per acre more then not plowed acres and this year it’s a 9 bushel per acre increase. He said it is because all the nutrients are sitting in the top 3 inches of soil and the plow flips it over snd puts the nutrients deeper for the roots. To grab as they are growing. He is try. He did half his corn acres plowed for the first year this year. So it will be interesting to see if he also gets a15 percent yield increase in corn as well. Cheers.
