Ok but can we talk about all the bottles at the end? He's done this dozens of times. He knows that the hope is almost certainly false. But still he sprints down the beach, still he struggles against the waves, still he dives into the water and brings back the next bottle. He is exhausted and has been disappointed over and over, yet still he puts his energy and trust into the next bit of hope, because that is what he needs to keep him going

Nearly 13 years ago I asked a couple of guys sitting in a few seats far off stage in Raleigh's downtown open venue who their favorite band playing for the night was. Both in tandem answered Delta Rae. At the time I had never heard of the band and told the guys I would check them out. I talked with them for about 15 mins and they said goodbye. 30 mins later they take the stage. My life has never been the same. In all that time I have still never understood how so few people can sound like all the angels singing down from heaven. Well done, you still wake my love and rattle my bones.

This video is beautiful. It captures something about being human that can't be put into words. Waking up on the beach, exhausted. The imagry of his desperate running, the fans in the wind, the absolute elation and joy on his face when he grabs the bottom turning to despair as he throws the bottle and falls back to the position he started the video in. The ring of bottles in front of him showing how many times he's done this loop of hope to joy to despair. It's so evocative. Thank you for the wonderful music!
