Great video. Thanks! Is it possible to preserve the foreground by doing a Select Sky and inverting at the same time you have the area around the Milky Way selected by the lasso tool? (I really know pretty much nothing about PS, so forgive me if this is a naive question.)

Nice! I’ve been looking for a video that just has more trouble area tips like this. Most are just one or two tips during a full tutorial

Instead of using the gradient eliminator...are you able to use a filter in your camera fo filter out light pollution? How helpful do you think that would be here? I have a filter but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Was hoping to get out this weekend if the weather is nice
@deltaastrophotography2 жыл бұрын
I just got an Optolong L-Pro filter that I'm dying to try out! I might test it out this weekend if the weather is nice, but there is a very bright moon out all weekend. I really want to see what it can do with light pollution with no moon.

How do you even get colour in the milky way with light pollution like in the second picture? I have a milky way photo from a bortle 1 sky and my picture ends up being orange and literally not a single real colour coming from the milky way

If you select the Milky Way and the foreground area, then invert selection. This gives a better result.
