1:31:10 If I'm not mistaken, at the end of the first fight Spamton did say "come alone", so it could also be that Kris respected Spamton's request. That in and of itself does say that Kris is willing to trust Spamton enough to the point where he indulges his request.

It's interesting how Toby's using things that would normally hurt a narrative in order to create more intrigue in this game, the fact that your choices mostly don't affect anything, the fact that Ralsei barely gets acknowledged by the other characters, and also how Spamton just isn't talked about at all after you first meet him, leaving you feeling almost like it didn't really happen, all are things that are normally seen as bad in a story but they seem to be done very intentionally here and actually make it all more intriguing.

Some thoughts on the idea of Noelle being potentially associated with Ambition: - Noelle's crush on Susie is extremely strong. She REALLy wants to get with her, far more overtly than Kris or Berdly. I don't think any other UT/DR character would fantasize that strongly about wanting to be bullied. - Noelle doesn't just want to find her sister. She has made enough internet searches that Queen felt it necessary to fill an *entire calendar* with "December Holiday". That seems to be an implication of hundreds upon hundreds of searches, and that's exclusively online. Who knows where and how often she's searched IRL? - At the tail end of the Snowgrave route, there's that scene where Kris is listening in on Noelle realizing that something is wrong with Kris. Shortly before Kris jumpscares her, Noelle decides that she has to figure out why they're acting so differently all the sudden.

A cool detail is that the phone's sprite syncs with the ringtones in Dialtone. 1:54:52 - Toby Fox also called the vessel that gets discarded, a workout-ready body in the Chapter 1 Playthrough Live Stream. 1:56:30 - That information gives me an idea of what the next secret boss will be like in Chapter 3. I will talk about it in the next part. 2:14:40 - This might be a stretch, but it could reference the fact that Spamton tried to impersonate Swatch: [It Burns!] Guy -> [Pain] Guy -> Paint Guy 2:40:30 - [Easels] is most likely Swatch as Spamton once considered him a friend as it was answered in the Q&A. 2:51:15 - [Anything You See On TV!] is probably Tenna from his name, who is a Darkner made from an Antenna that is on the TV in Toriel's House. I also don't think that Mike is Chapter 3's Secret Boss, it's someone that we won't even expect. 2:56:35 - The Japanese version of this line matches the unused text in Chapter 1's files where someone is calling for help. 3:36:30 - The two plugs seems to be the ones that are going inside the closet in the upper left corner of the computer lab in the Light World which may be influencing this part of the basement. 3:40:45 - The closet is said to be full of old electronics, so this face might be from one of them. This face also appears on a scrapped mechanic where there were barriers in the coaster fights that represents Queen and this entity. 3:48:30 - This room might be influenced by what's under the cabinet in the upper right that represents Queen's Mansion like the Card Castle. 4:24:35 - Okay, this is where it gets interesting. In Japanese, the kanji for Heaven is pronounced "Ten" and "Na" is used to attribute something like a suffix. So, Tenna could be a Darkner who is heavenly which is either defined as divine or of the sky. Does Heaven refers to Tenna or the Angel? Either way, both are forces whose natures we haven't fully comprehend yet. 4:25:20 - The leitmotifs in BIG SHOT symbolizes Spamton's character, motivations and his doomed fate all in one. THE WORLD REVOLVING references his status as a secret boss and his desire for freedom, Power of NEO is in incomplete segments probably representing his broken and glitchy nature even as NEO and Dummy! symbolizes that Spamton is still a Mad Dummy for the remainder of his life. 4:29:30 - This pretty much confirms that Mettaton NEO's fight would have been a harder version of his EX fight like Undyne the Undying had it not been cut short. It did make sense though. You never meet Alphys, so you're not aware of Shooter Mode. Mettaton's fight in Hotland gets skipped as a result which leads to his One-Hit Kill. 4:46:55 - This line appears to be part of the lyrics sung with Power of NEO alongside THE WORLD REVOLVING in BIG SHOT where Spamton appears to be calling someone. He thinks that something is coming for him and wants them to answer the phone, but he can't explain until they're alone as it pulls the strings and make them ring. He then makes a suggestion or offer and calls them a big shot. I wouldn't be surprised if the lyrics are given through dialogue related to the next secret boss. 4:49:20 - It's fitting that his "final attack" as NEO is his first attack in the earlier fight done with a twist. 4:56:05 - What's interesting is that the colors of Spamton's glasses flipped when he becamed NEO from his pink and yellow to yellow and pink in the same way as the FRIEND's eyes and retains them here. 4:58:00 - I'm assuming that Spamton reverted back to normal and needs strings to even talk and in the other route, he reverts back with strings attached. 5:11:20 - Okay, something suspicious is going on here. First in Chapter 1, Jevil's cell turns into a spinning arena and then completely disappears after his fight. Here, rollercoasters suddenly appeared on the railways and then an illusion of a ruined city ruled by Spamton in the background. After the fight, the room dramatically changes with the railways and the room that once contained the NEO body being gone like they never existed. Did the removal of the Shadow Crystal cause this? 5:22:40 - I don't know how far the next part is in editing, but I must warn that there's a bug in Sans' store that hasn't been fixed yet where if you interact with certain objects, it causes the egg to disappear from the inventory and the game acts like you put it in the egg pile. I would interact with the egg pile first before anything else just to be on the safer side in order to not miss any dialogue.

At 24:53 you confuse a 4x4, which is 1 larger than a standard cube, with a 2x2. 2x2's are fairly easy, but a 4x4 requires entirely new algorithms to consistently solve.

3:15:15 It is possible to reach the end of the room without letting the pot fall to the ground though careful movement of Kris. The pot always gets pushed to move in the opposite horizontal direction of Kris, falls extra fast when they sprint, and will still fall slightly if it's already tilting and they're completely still. If the pot is ahead of Kris, occasionally stop to let it fall, then move Kris forwards to bring the pot back to the center. If it's tipping behind Kris, sprint backwards until the pot is pointing forwards again, then resume forwards movement. Upon reaching the end of the room (there's a second checkered line only visible if you don't fail and re-enter the room like you did), the Swatchlings standing nearby will applause, and Susie will say "Heh, not bad, Kris!" before giving them a friendly punch on the shoulder. This jolts the pot into falling onto the ground regardless, angering the Swatchlings regardless. Susie also just runs away and leaves you and Ralsei behind, so if you let the Swatchling crowd reach you, you hvae to fight them without her. That's easy to avoid though, since you're already at the end of the room anyways.

i had a theory since chapter 2 released that Kris's soul trait is "Courage". In Undertale track that plays when you die is named "Determination". But in Deltarune that track is named "Faint Courage". I think it's named "faint" because Kris isn't in control of their own actions anymore. Many people discard ideas of different soul traits other than the 7 human souls, but I think it's wrong approach because for an example humans in a real world dont have only 7 personalities

There is a french song called "lunettes bleues, lunettes roses" by Alain Souchon that tells the story of a man working as a janitor in a toy store. The song is about saying that as an adult it is important to not lose the way you saw things as a child. We learn later that his glasses (that are blue and pink, like the old 3D glasses) allows him to see the toy move and speak, as a child does. This song is part of a musical that draws the story of a kid that stayed in this toy store at night because he's scared of growing up, and being like a grown-up. He encounters during this night many toys that tell him their stories with cute, fun, and sad songs sometimes. But in the end, the kid realize that even though it can be scary to grow up, loving those around you and especially your parents can help you go through life. This interestingly resonates with Deltarune and Spamton, though it is quite improbable it is tied x)

2:58:24 One more interpretation here we could imagine is that this time he is talking to the player considering the meta-narrative of him looking at us and saying "you", not Kris this time. It also happens (not through Spamton this time) in the Snowgrave/Wierd Route, when the game says "you" (us) whispered Noelle's name at the end of the fight against Spamton Neo. Going with this mindset though I'm sure the message wouldn't matter heavily to the characters. Would love to know your thoughts on this direction, if possible. Another great episode, Jaru ^^

2:13:00 So I don't think that's what Spamton was hinting at. When he first appears as NEO he was confused on why he wasn't big enough and has strings. Then he realized Kris had their soul and that could be the key. Still foreshadowing the soul taking but I don't think taking the soul was his intention at this moment

At 45:40, you can also interpret that as a contrast to Susie. Yellow and purple are opposites in terms of being warm and cool colours respectively, but are also complimentary colours. If you take it at surface level, it could represent that despite how different Susie and Noelle are they still like each other At 2:36:48, a Lightner that could fit into that description is Mayor Holiday. She is described as being very dedicated to her job, and from the dialogue so far it seems she’s always busy running the town. Noelle also doesn’t seem particularly close to her as her dad presumably because of that. Additionally, Spamton does know Noelle due to her reading his spam mail, so it’s not entirely out of the question for him to know about certain parts of her life. It could also contribute to 2:46:56 in regards to the half price thing with Noelle’s family being split in half. Her sister Dess is missing, and depending on how you look at it you could say that either the half comes from her feeling isolated from her mother and only being close to Rudy, or her family literally being cut in half if Rudy dies since it’ll just be her and her mom. At 3:15:15, you can actually get through it without dropping the vase. If I remember correctly Susie congratulates Kris and nudges them on the shoulder, causing the vase to fall off and causing the Swatchlings to aggro on you. Susie also runs away at that point to the next screen, but she’ll still be in battle if you do engage with them Finally, I do find it a bit unnerving that you get the S.POISON at this point in the game. With how this chapter ends Toriel is pretty likely to be a party member, at least temporarily. Considering what happened in Undertale with the first fallen human, you might be able to recreate the same thing with another one of her children

1:54:33. The background image of the Goner sequence is called IMAGE_DEPTH. Perhaps that’s what “[Deep Abyss]” could be referring to? When Kris first enters the Dark World, “ocean.ogg” plays. Maybe the basement was nearing the “depth” of the ocean/abyss where the goner maker took place and Gaster is located? Since Gaster’s presence is rarely felt during “normal gameplay” and becomes explicitly clear during DEVICE_GONERMAKER, DEVICE_FAILURE (Game over) etc, maybe DEVICE_FRIEND was indeed meant to signal that you’re getting close to him again in the “depth”? Just a thought.

I saw one other comment mention it but when Noelle joins the party if you look in the menu her profile is in yellow meaning the fire shape could be connected to her somehow. I wanted to talk more about this though because I find it interesting how you point out that Ralsei and Susie could line up with the soul traits Kindness and Perseverance. If we follow that line of logic it's possible Noelle and Berdly's traits could be Justice and Patience. (Although we can't be as sure with Berdly since he hasn't actually joined the party yet, I just assume his color would be cyan because of the shapes.) The only thing that makes me unsure about this though is Kris. We know Kris is associated with the red soul trait since they have one, the orange soul trait since courage comes up a lot with them, but in the party their color is blue. Kris' soul does change to yellow during the Spamton Neo fight however so maybe Kris is just an exception? Anyways if Noelle and Berdly are meant to be connected to Justice and Patience that would be pretty interesting since I probably wouldn't really think of those traits when it comes to them at all if it weren't for the colors in the party menu. Noelle seems to be looking for her sister since she searches for Dess on the internet, so could that mean that she's seeking justice? I associate justice more with punishing someone who's done something wrong than with helping people, but you can look at it from that angle, like searching for Dess is a "just cause." As for Berdly, it's a bit harder for me to think of a connection to Patience. I guess while Berdly isn't actually a GENIUS I definitely wouldn't say he's completely stupid, and he seems to have enough book smarts to get good grades in school, so maybe patience could apply to his ability to spend time studying? Idk. Whether or not the soul traits match with the characters though, I do think there's a good chance the shapes are connected to the characters in some way, the purple house just feels like too much of a coincidence, but it could totally also end up just being a coincidence lol. I think the green wave could also be connected to the dark worlds, since there seems to be a lot of connections between them and the ocean, and that would make sense for Ralsei since he's a darkner. (probably) Like you said the boot could be connected to Kris, but I also think it could be for a character that hasn't been in the party yet since we haven't seen a character with the color orange in the party menu. Finally the yellow shape is what I find the most interesting since if it does apply to the characters party colors, that would mean it's connected to Noelle. One idea I thought of is that it could represent the Christmas Star or even the North Star which would be interesting. Or maybe it means Noelle will go from using ice powers to fire powers! Or maybe her house will burn down! Ok this speculation is getting a little crazy but point is, shapes are neat. (Also not gonna lie I paused to type this whole comment right before I got to the spelling bee scene because I was afraid I'd forget to talk about the shapes later, but the idea that the shapes could be associated with the gifts you can choose in the goner maker sequence is interesting. I quickly looked up the definition of ambition and got "a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work." which I think could apply better to Noelle's desire to find her sister than Justice does. Berdly also loves to hear himself talk so voice also makes sense for him. I could see mind for Susie essentially meaning that while she's not book smart, she's got street smarts. After all at the end of Chapter 1 it seemed like she wasn't quite buying Kings act when he was "giving up," and she even came off as really mature when she talked to Ralsei about the whole thing afterwards. Kindness for Ralsei is pretty straightforward but then Bravery for Kris... I do wonder if maybe there will actually be a twist that reveals that Kris' soul was actually originally orange, and then only became red after it was possessed. That'd be neat!) Edit: 4:29:14 Also Spamton saying cathode screens here reminded me of something I think would be cool in Chapter 3. What if the TV villain has screens throughout his Dark World that he can transfer himself in-between? Rather than it being one television, what if he's actually connected to ALL of them. Just thought that was another neat idea.

Jevil could also be considered to be locked in the deep abyss, which would technically be under the floor in the Light world. Maybe powerful beings are just attracted to the deepest parts of the Dark world, whether through choice or coincidence. I wonder if Chapter 3's secret boss will be "under" the "studio" that is the dark world there. Maybe by going under the Dark world, you can learn about and reach other Dark worlds, kinda like maintenance tunnels.

I think the reason there are Some humans in undertale who can/could perform magic is the same reason why undyne is very physically powerful. I think theres an amount of natural variation. Plus its very likely to me that the humans who created the barrier might've been using items to increase their magic stats

Hi jaru. I wrote about this in the last lore playthrough but I have some questions I wanted to ask. My theory is that undertales underground is a dark world, it explains so much. One thing it explains that showed up in this video is the fact that there are human magicians in undertales intro They are not real magicians they’re just making a dark fountain They’re called magicians because we see the intro from the monsters perspective and for them it looks like magic. I really really believe in this theory, it answers so many questions it can’t be false. I really don’t think there are any contradictions or plot holes in this theory. So here’s my question, can you find something that disproves my theory? Because if you can’t I’m pretty sure you are legally obligated to believe in it. With the amount of things this theory solves and it doesn’t cause any problems I’m really surprised I didn’t hear it anywhere and thought of it myself It feels like something the deltarune community would think of immediately.

Here I will list the things that this theory explains/makes simpler/evidence 1: the magicians thing 2:magic in undertale vs magic in deltarune It makes sense the monster in the underground have magic they’re in a dark fountain You don’t need to think of them as alternate realities now they can be alternate timelines 3:sans’s door is now implied to teleport you some where which is in character 4:More determination makes a stronger dark fountain That just generally makes sense 5:in undertale you fall down to the underground which is very similar to the dark fountains in deltarune 6: the barrier is VERY similar to a dark fountain 7:it explains why the underground is similingly separated into seasons (as highlighted by the word search) There was probably a Callander in the cave that was turned into the underground and because it was the only object in the dark fountain it hade such a sever effect. 8:it explains how gaster reached the depth or whatever it’s called he figured out about dark fountains inside a dark fountain and made one and got sucked in “darker yet darker“ And probably more but you get the gist

What about the menus? The light worlds' menus and text boxes are exactly like UT, not like DR. The monster images in text boxes are not colored like in DR. It is an interesting theory, but I believe that fact is the main reason to why not many, if any, will get behind this

@@ThiefofFlames I think the menus are a meta narrative thing and Toby made deltarunes light world’s menu like undertale to make early chapter one to feel like undertale 2 Meta narrative and the regular narrative are separate and should be considered separately Alternatively maybe the deltarune menus are like undertale’s because gaster (who is wiring us up to deltarune) wants us to feel like it’s undertale 2

The other problem I can think of is in the pacifist route when asriel destroys the barrier the dark world doesn’t turn into a cave with the whole monster race inside I have some answers for this problem Maybe the dark world can’t be destroyed if there are more people in it then the actual light world space can hold Maybe just maybe Toby isn’t perfect and wasn’t one hundred percent sure how the dark worlds would work in the middle of making undertale

before i star wachting i have to say a think. in the last ep you kep saying that the way the darkness are comes from the way lighter are being spamton be spamton because the influence of kris and mabey abit noelle(correcte mi if i am rong because a wacht the ep long time ago ) well i dont think the same way i think that the way the darkness are is because the way the lighter see's them like with lancer he is the way he is because is how suise see's lancer , or iven his father. you can apply this to every character like noelle and burgley seing queen as her mother and kris seing spantom abit like him.(sorry for bad ingles)

I have a theory that hyperlink blocked is both. Dess and Goner. Hear me out what if the character we are supposed to be. Our actual vessel is dess. Hence why we have to find her. A goner is another name for the discarded vessel. Spamtons plan was to absorb our soul therefore turning him into our new vessel. That is his lifetime supply.
