"There's a bit of an identity crisis in my version, where you can tell I was flip flopping on whether to go for epic or silly. I thought both approaches worked well..." If anything, that seems to fit the character perfectly. On his surface, he's just a silly joke character, a clown. However, underneath that there is a very complex identity revolving around a strange form of nihilism that can only exist in a fictional reality with a character that understands their position in the universe, which allows him to achieve essentially limitless power. He is that identity crisis, the silly/epic hero/villain/joke, all rolled into one.

While the remix is incredible, I want to point out something I noticed during the game footage. Since the Jevil is aware of the fourth wall, he recognizes this "numbers game" for what it is: An RPG battle in which the players' team has different specialties. Two have a specialty for making his "number" go down, and one has a specialty for making their "numbers" go up. That's why his attacks usually aim for and hit hardest against the healer, Ralsei.

This version starts off so sweet and fun, very carnivalesque, but as it goes on, it gets more complex and dramatic while still maintaining an air of child-like innocence. It seems like this version is more from Jevil's perspective of just playing a simple game that has more rules and more complex chaoses (chai? What would the plural of chaos be?) are added to mix to keep the game from getting boring and repetitive. However, in the end, this is just the carousel game and it ends the same as it began, a whirlwind that will continue to revolve. There is no true end, the cycle just begins anew and fades out... I'd also like to add that this version of the song sounds very triumphant towards the end, I like the feeling it gives off

The only thing I feel is missing is the panpipes which gave the original a really unique yet somehow familiar feeling, but carnival organ, accordion, and oompah brass is great too. Sort of changed some of the feeling I got from the song, but it just gave this one its own flair. Fantastic job!

Theirs a... chaotic, nature to the music I love like it sounds almost carnival sounding but every now and then the instruments go off key, or theirs an odd choice used like Recorders, Noise Makers, and other toy instruments. It sounds threatening, happy and unhinged all at once. Perfect for Jevil.

Hmm I am probably not going to be liked for saying this, but there are a few things I'd just like to give for constructive feedback. I hope you can take this as a positive way and not a berating criticism. I am no means a professional, so do take my opinions with a pinch of salt. There are a million things you did so well, but a few awkward aspects which stuck out. The percussion is certainly the most memorable part of the cover. So much so, the main tune which came in at 0:11 felt completely out of place. Some of the heavy energy was lost with no transition, so it doesn't feel like part of a whole song. This goes for most of the other percussion parts like 3:20. However, there were parts where you mixed the heavy percussion very well with the rest of the orchestra. Introducing the drum kit at 1:13 also affected momentum and spatial awareness. Suddenly from a large grand hall, it gets condensed into a stage-room. Throughout, the accordion (which is a very ambitious choice of melody instrument to use in a massive orchestra), did not sound like a part of the mix in the more heavy parts. Putting the tuned percussion in front also creates a strange spacial disharmony, where it's trying to compete against the brass and lower strings. Other than these small things, the song's arrangement was unique, satisfying, and took me on an adventure. Well done, and thank you for taking the time to create this. You've raised the bar high for Deltarune's orchestral covers!

Thank you for your insightful feedback. After I posted this, I got in my car and listened to it through my car speakers and it immediately sounded off. That’s what I get for working primarily through headphones. It sounds like I placed the drums and accordion in front of the listener while the rest of the orchestra is somewhere in the back. Mixing is where I still have a lot to improve at, and I have to figure out how to better incorporate instruments that use their own amplifiers in a large space. Earlier this week I found your hour long undertale medley and listened to it quite a bit. Very impressive!

The way you did this fits the whole battle so well, you are literally fighting a chaotic madman who enjoys toying with you, his attacks are relentless and often epic at the same time in a boss standpoint, but at the same time keeping that circus like vibe to them, I honestly believe what made him go mad was learning that no matter what you do in the world, you will always get the same result, maybe with minuscule changes but still. Just as a example, imagine knowing saving someone you care about wont matter cause they will die from a horrible fate anyway, it will eat at you until you either go mad or push them away so you don't have to watch, he knows nothing will change, but that wont stop him from having fun while he can, cause in the end he knows what will happen, the madman knows that he wont stop the end result, but why not be a pain for the laughs, for the chaos, for the world will keep on revolving with or without him.

This doesnt really feel like jevils world revolving more like the song of a future secret boss. Still a banger in the end though

Wow, you went and actually enhanced the song with this one. Does not happend to often that i hear music from toby fox being remastered or arranged and surpassing the original for me (like its near to impossible to sound better than the original Hopes and Dreams).

Oh this... is gorgeous. You blew my mind! Like, wow, it's a journey. I think it's the best orchestrated version of this song so far. The carnival instruments were a magnificent idea, it feels like... what was missing. Good job, dude.
