Deltec VF 4000

This is my overview of the VF 4000 by Deltec filter floss rollermat. In case others wanted to know more information about this product - at least there is someone who has shown it. Before I bought mine, I couldn't find anything about the product.
I do not sell or represent Deltec in any way. I paid full price for the VF 4000. I just felt there was a need for someone to show/talk about the product since I couldn't find anything about it before I bought it.

Simplicity like we see with this Deltec roller mat is something we don't often find in our hobby! I cant wait to add one of these to my new 120 built and 86 my pain in the ass filter socks!

These should be treated like skimmers. Not fed by tank drains. Even filter socks should have a dedicated, flow control pump. High flow sumps are the solution not in the sense of turnover but bringing unfiltered foods back to the tank. No "dead" spots.

Thanks for the review! I like how simple it is to change the filters. Will it only work on Deltec roller filter? Is there a security overflow?

Thanks Scott for that short review. Can you just tell me how to clean that decice? Is it possible to disassemble the inside parts with the holes to clean behind? And is there any controller for the motor like the clarisea sk does have to give you a warning sign if the roll get stuck?

Cleaning behind will be a challenge - but is doable with some effort I suppose. It is all glued together. No...there is no controller to tell you that the roll is stuck. I hope to get it installed this weekend and can provide some additional info. I finally got my separate tank...

Will that filter a 240g tank, Where did you purchase yours VF4000 and how is the customer service and warranty?

My tank is a 180. This device didn't exist when I designed my tank. I would go with the bigger unit for that size tank though.

They made some crucial mistakes imho. First, they are way more expensive than all other. The BM version only cost 1/3th of this. But that probably quality. However this thing should be directly connected to the overflow so you can filter out everything and not mis parts. Because you set it on the floor at a certain height this is a lot harder. Others have haning brackets which are nice to have in that case.
