As a girl, I agree with this 100% So many women are delusional, there's no other way to describe it. I used to be overweight, dressed terribly, and didn't care about my appearance, yet all of my female friends would hype me up and tell me I was "stunning" and "bad asf". I knew damn well they were lying. It always frustrated me because what if I actually started to think I was stunning? I would've made a fool of myself by going around acting like I'm a 10 when I was lucky if I was considered a 4. I'm glad I decided to get in shape and actually put in effort but that whole "women support women" is more like "women lying to women" and it's doing more harm than good. I would have never put in any effort to better myself if it wasn't for the few honest people who told me truthfully that I was not attractive. Hard pill to swallow but it helped me a lot more than all those people who lied to me to avoid hurting my feelings.

This is just a theory of mine… I think many women go out of their way to hype up other women and themselves in an obscene way at times in order to compensate for the negativity they encounter in the world. When basic consumer culture, especially beauty culture markets directly towards you and tells you that you need to look a certain way in order to be viewed as attractive, you can often take this weight on your shoulders to conform. It could very well be a subconscious thing we do and because women can often relate to each other, they compliment each other incessantly to combat the weight of negativity and insecurities they face.

Never thought of it through this perspective. I think that, like almost everything in the world, we need to look for the balance for things to work in the most efficient way. I am 37 now, and I figured most of this out over a decade ago. I remember when going on a date or meeting someone meant you actually had to have a conversation. Now, it's boiled down to swipe left or right depending on how the person looks. I have stepped in mud puddles that were a lot less shallow than the dating world has become. As a man who has been single for 17 years, I think I can be brutally honest here. To all the guys out there who are "simps" have some self-respect, there's more to life than the opposite sex. Take all the money, time, and energy you spend making a fool of yourself, allowing yourself to be used, and mistreated and use it to improve your life. I certainly have no clue what women really want in a relationship, but it's probably not a pushover, yes man who has no worth while skills or talent because all his time has been wasted pining after something that really isn't worth much. If there's one thing being single all these years has taunt me it's that the amount of time you have to accomplish things, self reflect, learn and generally improve your situation is a massive advantage that married people or people raising children don't have so don't waste it!

As a human I am sorry to hear that, but the cold true is we (men) can not feel empathy for experiences like yours, not because we hate you, but because we have suffered harsh female rejections and humilation continously since young age and we heal to become immune to self-pettiness and hurtful feelings after getting all the accumulated hostile treatment. Those aren't expectations being artificially created by "society". Beauty is a reflection of proper growth and genetic quality. This doesn't upset me , it would have when I was younger because I had issues with self-esteem. I think there's a difference between loving yourself and seeing your own value and being overly cocky and delusional. The one thing I will say with the whole comment, " every woman is beautiful in her own way" I truthfully agree with that. That's not saying everyone will find her beautiful and find her the perfect ten. How I take it is that everyone has a type and what they're attracted too. What I find attractive may be different than what you find attractive. They are attractive to me. Even if we don't share the same view point. It doesn't change the fact that I personally find them attractive. I have met people who said " I was the most gorgeous woman they have ever met" both men and women and I have always had people who didn't find me attractive and to them I wasn't. It's different for everyone. So that's what I think that comment meant. Not that everyone on earth finds that person to be a perfect ten. If that makes sense. That's just how I look at it. I don't think there's anything wrong with loving yourself and being confident in how you look. Also, in some circumstances not all, that confidence is what makes a difference. I've known men and women who by society standards weren't all that but they loved themselves and were confident and they got that by society standards attractive person. I will not lie, there have been men who straight out the gate I was not initially attracted to but they had the confidence and made me laugh and we had things in common, which made me look at those men differently. Oh man idk how to feel about this video, but as a bisexual woman: man some of the guys wheat was calling chads really weren't in terms of looks and honestly some of his takes really need a woman's perspective too because while men will tend to focus more on bodies women tend to focus more on the faces. Honestly, every girl I found to be extremely attractive has never felt the same for me. I'm 28. I just accepted that it must be because I'm just not attractive, despite being told otherwise. Thing is, not all of us follow the same beauty standards. I’m not a fan of the “6-6-6” expectations on men, just like I’m also not a fan of filler/botox/surgery/today’s alien expectations. I feel like an 8 or a 9, most days, and sometimes a 12. But another person could look at me and say “that woman is a 2 on a good day”, just like another person might think I’m the most stunning thing they’ve ever seen. I’m a girl - For me those comments on Instagram (ur gorgeous etc) just make me feel good. They don’t make me feel like a 10/10 or perfect. I just feel good about myself for a few days from these comments. I like my looks, but I’m not a 10, and those comments don’t make me think that.

As a female, I one hundred percent agree with this. I am a confident 5 and I know that I am not the most attractive woman in thew world... thus, I should date guys on my level and not try to put my sole focus on 10's and 8's who may not want me. Yes, if a 10 decides to date a 3 or 4, that's perfectly fine... but women and men have to be able to gauge their attractiveness and act accordingly. Not ALL women are 10's. If Zendaya is a 10, then Chealse down the street cannot be over a 4... that's just common sense.

I mean I’m a girl and I don’t see anything wrong with this, but I do think that the concept of beauty vastly changes from person to person. A lot of the people ranked at a 5 in this video I saw as 10’s and the other way around. So I do 100% agree but I do think it’s a bit more complicated than this.

true, i wouldn't rate the men (who i might be more objective about) the same they have. 5s and 6s were cute. Some 7/8s were very hot, I don't typically encounter a person who looks like that, but there a couple that I was like, "would I rate them the same?"

Appearance is objective - most people are 5 or 6 genetically and that's normal! 7 is not so common a "very attractive" appearance (it gave me advantage with females interactions) 8 - 10 is an really rare model looks.

It's a known fact that most women underrate their looks, because society has programmed us to hate the way we look so we spend more on cosmetic tools, products and procedures. So this isn't some kind of epidemic, rather the opposite actually. E.g. my BIL and male colleagues have told me I could pull down numbers if I wanted, but I'm pretty convinced I'm a 4 with a sense of humour and they're just blind (also I don't really care about male opinions or tastes anyway, so).
