I’ve literally had long debates with them trying to talk sense into them over a variety of wacky concepts they believe - one of them was (for example) the fact that men are stronger than women, as they both think we’re equally as strong lol. I’ve had debates trying to tell them that women shouldn’t be in combat in the military, or on beats for police, or serving as firemen. I’m a woman myself, but that didn’t stop their mom from calling me a sxist while the debate went on. And that’s just ONE topic. There’s plenty more, but YT only lets me say so much.

Police officers, when a woman is being arrested, someone is required to pat them down and it’s probably best to have another woman do so. Military, again women can get into places that a man might not be able to and fix trucks (their escape) without having to pull all of the armor down (go ahead and ask me how I know that). You just disclosed what is wrong about our education system; back in the 1940's and 50's students were taught citizenship - and were graded on it. Then the government decided it was too much work for teachers to teach what it means to be a citizen of the US and how to be responsible citizens and it was gradually dropped off the curriculum and only taught in government class - where it fell to the wayside in favor of memorizing the US Constitution so they could pass the US Constitution test. Once that was passed it wasn't important anymore. That also means US citizens are clueless about what it means to be a citizen; it's truly a responsibility and too many shirk their responsibilities.
@JeremiahChisumgosseАй бұрын
@marylynnbirtciel5539 Absolutely! However, we can't ever stop trying to educate those who will listen about what we were taught. If the schools themselves won't teach it, it's part of our responsibilities as good citizens to pass on what we know. If we don't, we're getting an F for citizenship.

@JeremiahChisumgosse2 ай бұрын
Interesting. How do you approach the subject of God and the Bible? Is there any gray area there?
@rdraken2 ай бұрын
@JeremiahChisumgosse I see that God himself has done some horrible things to prove a point. However he has also shown compassion for humanity. I remember that story where the devil stated that a person only believed in god because he had a good life. Then god to prove how the man's faith took all all of the man's worldly possessions. And the man then still stated his belief, and was rewarded in eternity. Was this a cruel thing to do? Yes. But the story also highlighted that the man would receive all he deserved for his faith. I am not a religious person but when I have time and am approached with a religious question I try to look at it as much as possible or with what I currently recall from previous looks. As for the Bible I think of it in a similar regard not being as attached to any religion in particular I can't say it speaks to me specifically. There are stories of wrath as well as compassion I have heard and seen on looks I have done. And fully understand that people flock to it. Hopefully that answers your question.
@JeremiahChisumgosseАй бұрын
@rdraken You need to take another look, a long look. The story you're referring to is about Job. God didn't take anything from him. Satan did in an effort to get Job to denounce his faith in God. It didn't work because God was there with him the entire time helping him deal with it because he didn't lose his faith. The Bible may not currently speak to you, but it's impossible and illogical to deny that it came directly from God. It was transcribed by dozens of people over many hundreds of years in 3 different languages, and it also has 63,000 overt direct connections from one point in it to another. There's zero chance of that kind of coordination being carried out by mere humans alone. Not to mention the prophesies that came true, the miracles that were performed, and the one unwavering common thread throughout all of it.
@Furvus_MortАй бұрын
Brainwashed is an understatement. The fact once they are questioned and asked to answer for their beliefs. There's this level of denial with vague excuses. So it's more the fact they want to believe this to be true rather than this is simply what they are taught. Which to me is much more sinister.

Mr Jojo. I'm that 65 year old native from the Red lake Nation Minnesota. Just a little perspective from an elder. Looking out my window, I see that these are "young" people. They haven't experienced anything yet. When I was 20 years old, I was a freelance liberal. I hated the establishment, I hated suits, and I thought I knew everything. Especially after spending 4 years shacked up with a Mormon girl, having to feed her clothing and house her. I've been on my own since 13, had a job roofing and siding houses, had my first apartment at 15 with the my 13 year old girlfriend, had a job and a pickup truck. Then I went to college when I was 20, that's when Reagan got in, and I hated that he was taking all the free stuff Jimmy Carter was giving us. Personally I really didn't grow up until I was 24. That's when I heard Ronald Reagan's trickle-down theory. You're young and yes, you have a strong base that was taught by your parents, of common sense. I listen to your father everyday. You getting frustrated is a good thing. You're morphing through your knowledge.But remember these kids haven't experienced tragedy and real heartache and real tryings, and let's not forget the hormones are still flying all over the place trying to find their settlement. Dude, you're halfway there already, you're going to do great in life. It all comes from parenting. And I see you will make a great parent. Anyway, this old man has said enough.
