Thanks for what you’re doing. Saving these CRTs from extinction is key to preserve the real feel of the arcade. Thanks for all the tips!

I agree it's getting harder to find working a CRT these days. That said, I'm on the lookout for a compatible TV for a future tube swap video.

Thanks for this, I hope you start filming all restorations you do, you are my new Johns arcade, his channel seems to be dead.

John's a busy guy. ;-) But last time I spoke to him he was working on his year end video. (I gave him an egg cooker for Christmas and it will probably be in his video). So we shall see...

@@delsarcade I hope so, I love watching hour long videos about arcade restorations, your channel is picking up recently and i'm very happy about this, I have been following you recently but I know you from way back when you did your first arcade machines, I got inspired by you and made my own too, I remember using a maximus arcade skin made by you I think. I remember pictures of a green space invader machine and others in forums.

@@MarchosArcade Don't like them. At all. Seems a bit racist? Dunno. Can't be too careful nowadays.

That’d be Silkworm’s burn-in. Plus something else. The ‘Top’ is JEEP-TOP and HELI-TOP.

Maybe I missed it but what's the purpose of the carboard?

Which cardboard? On the back of the monitor neck?
@dandaman150c4 жыл бұрын
Yep the one on the neck board
@delsarcade4 жыл бұрын
@@dandaman150c That's there to prevent you from brushing up against it while working on it. If you accidentally brush up against the solder points on the back of the neck board while it's on you can get shocked. Nothing lethal, just uncomfortable.

Quick question???!! MK2 cuts on and plays but after 10 mins a hotspot comes up and turns off. When it cools off it will turn on again???
@delsarcade5 жыл бұрын
Need more info: Does it play blind or does the whole game completely shut off? Playing blind is when only the monitor shuts down but you can still hear the game playing.

The monitor on my Rolling Thunder has started flickering and has been worsening. Any ideas on what would cause this? Thanks for the great videos!
@delsarcade5 жыл бұрын
Reflow the pins on the chassis. But beforehand do a wiggle test with the RGB cable's connection so see if you can replicate the issue. If so it's a cold solder joint on that connector. Reflowing pins on neck board may help too. Lastly, check for cracks on your flyback.

This cap kit is not correct for this monitor. 35v where a 16v should be . . . .
@delsarcade2 жыл бұрын
Voltage doesn't matter as long as: 1) The uF rating matches. 2) The voltage is equal or greater than the original. In this case 35v is replacing 16v so you are good to go. :-)
