I think the problem for Takara is they have shareholders so they have a bottom line profit they promise to hit...in order to engineer these bot mode with less kibble "we" would have to be charged more even tho they don't really have a budget margin for MP...Moon Studio aka Zeta crushes this but I bet the farm the profit margin per sale is less...the 3rd party company can bank on sales for overall profit plus doing a good release keeps customers engaged for the next release...the smaller the company, the smaller the divide of profits...

Takara is going for something far different - basically a model train that transforms. The train is really cool. All that said, this isn't good. Panels abound, backpack as thick as the figure, hollow parts.....it looks like a better painted chug figure. Never cared about Raiden, and glad I didn't give in to curiosity. Not sure I'd even feel good paying $40 for this.

Problem is, this is their first foray into a MP combiner. Dumbest decision ever, but anyway. With Zeta coming out with that omg hotness/hotmess depending on appendage lol but regardless it's a million miles outta this thing's league, these won't sell very well outside of Japan, and that'll be taken as a failure. Welp, we tried. You guys don't want MP combiners, so we won't make them. But, if they're not gonna put the work in, they don't deserve the sale. Just my opinion. I don't even collect MP, but I'm still an overall big time fan, and do keep up with what's going on, and if this is Takara's best, they're screwed, and screwing everyone over.

Well, the train mode is pretty cool but the bot mode really doesn't scream "pay 200 plus dollars for it". The transformation seems a little easier than Moon Shine but the kibble kills it big time. We'll see how the rest of the team shapes up but I fear poor Kaen will get the short end of the stick with Takara.

Hi, i think you mistransformed the nosecone of the train in combine mode. It should be rotated 180 degree, and collapse the blue part, then push it a little inside, to get the secure hatch & peg for the chest piece to be connected....

Most of the trainbots look fantastic in robot mode. Only thing I don't get it why as a masterpiece, hasbro /TT couldn't minimise all that kibble especially on backpack? You look at 3rd party ones and they are able to do it. Sometimes we wonder if hasbro is being lazy in engineering. Regardless, great review. 🤟Just subbed your channel!

Thank you very much! The takara trainbots imo aren't MP. Feel like combiner wars. I do like the train modes. Plan to display them with moon Studios in combine form and the trains around him. Thank you once again! 😀

Moon Studios scale is just way too big in combiner mode as it comes close to being as tall as Metroplex! Takara train mode is beautiful and robot form has kibble but I’m ok with it. Just worried Takara combiner scale may be too small.

it would be fun to find that the Takara release was in some scale that directly fits with an incredibly popular toy train scale standard. i would not be surprised if they were N scale trains.

I cringed a little when I saw that the painted chest is engineered to be placed in the undercarriage in train mode, as well as having a painted panel be the sole of the feet. Is the paint on this durable for the amount of clear plastic it has?

I didnt notice any paint chipping but yeah i dont like they put paint on the bottom of the feet. Moon Studios did the same thing. If you dont mess with them they will be fine. Thank you very much for watching this!

I've got this guy on pre-order but I am thinking I might cancel before it ships. It just doesn't seem premium enough for the price point... It is ridiculous they don't include the stand and the wheels don't turn.

Great thorough review! I can feel your disappointment, in your voice. I agree train mode is where this figure shines. I want some train bots, but not happy with either Moon Studio's or Takara's, at this point. Wait and watch Magic Square do a better job. After all these where originally mini bots!

This would be a beautiful Leader Class figure. But in my opinion, it's just not an MP. I preordered both the Takara Trainbots and the Moon Studio ones, but after receiving Shouki I think I might cancel the other Takara ones and just stick with my Moon Studio ones.
