I have 10 Victorinoxes, but not this one, but I would recommend this as one of the best and in a way wish I'd bought one. It's pretty much got everything you need for urban EDC, you hardly ever need a file or woodsaw. I often carry my Climber - which is like this minus the pliers, and with a corkscrew instead of a Philips driver - together with a pair of Knipex Cobra XS pliers, and sometimes add a bit driver to that, but the Deluxe Tinker would mean I could just carry one item. My one and done SAK is the Swisschamp which has the pliers, and an inline Phillips, but also a file, woodsaw, fish scaler, and magnifying glass, which I never use.

Having a SAK is such a good idea when moving out, theres always going to be some tool you suddenly need and even if you dont have it, a SAK is likely to have something that can do it. Imo having had the deluxe tinker for a long time, its -almost- the perfect pocket tool for everyday life. The only thing im missing is a bit driver like the cybertool has

Yea! I had a cheap no name multitool when I was a kid, but never really cared for it. I just wanted it because my dad had a Leatherman, but as I got older I really wanted another multitool and Victorinox really fit with what I wanted. The Deluxe Tinker really had everything I thought I would use and I was right, Leatherman is just to big. If I were to get another one the I would get a Cybertool, but right now I'm happy with the one I have :) I have been thinking of getting some kind of sheath or something to put it in so I can carry it on my belt, but I can't seem to find one small enough for the Deluxe Tinker.

@@MisplacedYellowhammer Idk what you are looking for spesifically, but having one made by a leatherworker doesnt need to be super expensive. Or if you are into it, making one could be a fun project, 2nd Chance George on youtube have made a bunch of those type of sheats. Alternatively its possible to get 3rd party replacement scales on places like Etsy that have pocket clips too

I enjoyed hearing about what you found useless and what you actually used. I think that is the way of multitools. The precision pliers actually make good tweezers, better than the scale tweezers at least

They actually do. I've used them to grab coins that were stuck in tight spots haha.

Maybe you should consider carrying the Compact knife; it has a large blade, a combo screwdriver, scissors, the hook, the corkscrew, the eyeglass screwdriver, the tooth pick, the tweezers and a ball point pen. Basically, it's everything you use, and none of the things you don't, plus, it takes up a lot less room in your pocket.

One of the reasons for the Deluxe Tinker was specifically because it didn't have the corkscrew. I knew I would never use it so I was specifically looking at SAKs that didn't have them.
