I am Indian Gorkha and whenever I say my mothertounge is nepali than people thinks that I belongs to Nepal and due to this reason we have to call ourselves indian Gorkhas just to differentiate ourselves from the Nepali citizens living and working in India. Our roots to India existed even before the independence of India. We just want to be viewed as the Nepali speaking citizens of India and not as the migrants of Nepal. And this is only possible when a seperate state the Gorkhaland will be formed or it should be made UT atleast. Jai Hind.

I am a Gorkha from Darjeeling. We people have an identity issue, we are regarded as someone from Nepal. Our ancestors may have held lands in Nepal, but we were in Darjeeling before the independence of India, so we came with the land, not that we migrated to India from Nepal. However due to Bangladeshi infiltration we now have become a minority as is proved by the Census. U may find it difficult to pull out a family where someone is not serving the Nation in the armed forces. We have enough courage to protect our Nation as a whole, so protecting our piece of land would not be so difficult. I think this answers the question abt National Security and the Chicken Neck getting endangered. We do love our Bengali Brothers, however we are always victimised by the Ruling ones. A place which generates a lot of foreign exchange for Bengal, have to struggle each day for our basic needs. A fellow world renowned for his bravery and honesty is always treated as a step son, treated as a foreigner in his Country. I can list out n no of things, but the comment would be too long. So considering the above we should be allowed to prove to our countrymen that we are able to administer ourselves effectively via a separate state.

I'm from Dooars belt of WB and I know condition of this area, if the Gorkhaland comes out as UT then the Dooars area will be included there and hopefully the living standard, poverty, jobs, transportation,tourism will be improved specially in the tea belts...... many tea gardens remain closed during the whole year...... still now many places of this area r underdeveloped, does not have proper roads to travel and even human trafficking is still a big issue........ the condition of the tribals is very pathetic here.....max. percentage of population is involved as daily labourer. ........ election after election is happening but the people of this area is not getting any smell of development....... from CPI(M) to TMC, the state govt. is not taking any positive step to develop this area in short, WB state govt. is failed to develop and empower this area...... it'll not work for long term by distributing cycles or by promoting "CHOP" industry but needed huge investment, entrepreneurship, Engineering colleges, medical colleges to develop the Dooars area..............so for all of these reasons I'm in favour of GORKHALAND to make a UT. 🙏🙏THANK YOU🙏🙏

First of all regards to you sir for all the lecturers provided by you. I studied up to class 12 in Jalpaiguri district in Doars area. I observed one thing there that every Gorkha friend wanted to join Indian army to serve his country. These are the persons who have won the most difficult kukarthang post in Tololing battle in 1999. Security issue cannot prevail with these brave and true patriots. Honorable CM of west bengal has correctly said that Mountain and Plain are like sisters but when a brother in a family doesn't get his actual right he also gets separated. If you ask me that it can start a chain reaction or 1000 states can be there, then I would say that for giving them proper tribute for their patriotism I would support this state as 1001th state even. These people really lack the basic needs. The schools are around 10-15 kms from tea gardens. These people get only 3000 rupees per month for plucking tea leaves which means only 100 rs daily whereas National Minimum Daily wage according to Labour Ministry is 375 per day. They are getting 3.75 times less. These people are producers in tea Garden, true fighters in the battle field. They should get proper identity. They are Indian Gorkha not Nepali. If We would overlook their demand, that can cause social unrest and serious security issue in that area.

Guys I have been to Darjeeling, Gangtok, Lachung etc. The culture is completely different from Bengali culture. They are not demanding anything against India. They just want a new state to be created, so that the new state will focus on development of their region. There should be a seperate state of Gorkhaland .because the history of Darjeeling is much more than we know..Darjeeling was never a part of West Bengal..It was used as a sanotorium by the Britishers and was a seperate place from WB. The main reason why it can't be given a statehood is that of its huge revenue produced from tourism, tea, Hydropower project and many more which Mamta Banarjee would not wish to loose. And the people there are very much suppressed by the WB govt. And also trying to forcefully make Bengali language compulsory sidelining their own language i.e Nepali. Thank you for this great video..every thing is true..but could have added the real historical reason for the demand of statehood.. And now Bimal Gurung is out of power..

Gorakhland is necessary for the identity of Nepalese speaking population of india. Just as Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, Tamil is spoken across borders so is Nepali. No one ask Punjabi or Urdu speaking people in India - are you Pakistani. No one asks Bengali speaking people- are you from Bangladesh, no one ask Tamil speaking people- are you from SriLanka/Singapore- then why are Nepali speaking people are asked such question. Regarding concern about chicken neck security- I think Indian Nepali people are the most loyal to India then any other community in India- number of people who have sacrificed their life for country in ratio of number of population is highest among Indian Nepali than any other community in India. We are demanding Gorkhaland not only due to cultural and linguistic difference from Bengali people but due to identity crises we face when we come out from the hills. N our demand is very much older than that of bodoland n others. Sikkim has only one MP and around 8 lakh population . Do it exists as state. Morever Pondicherry also has very less population than Darjeeling and area of Goa and population is around 18 lakh. Do it exists as a state . Than why not Darjeeling. According to my view gorkhas are deserved to make in new state because they feel so much discrimination with the West Bengal in the West Bengal Trinamool Congress Party is bed roll with the gorkhas are always well respected , right in Indian Army the is they are good for our country then make the another state this just like Gorkha is a good thing for any government on the gorkhs good strength in our country

Bodoland is also very old demand just like Gorkhaland, and are infamous for insurgency in assam. I think the centre should consider. Now is high time. Cultural identity should be maintained otherwise these people will never become mainstream.

Our gorkhland demand is older than telangana But now Telangana became a new state and our demand is still a hope if telangana can be a new state why not ours When telangana became a new state they dont think about chain reaction but when we protest for our future for our identity they talk about chain reaction Our India can develop fast by making a new state

I am from North Bengal. I can surely say that North Bengal which is been used by the West Bengal Government to earn revenue lacks in infrastructure. North Bengal lacks in Health, Education. Government only uses North Bengal to earn money by taking advantage of its tea production and tourism but pays no attention in developing this region.

Sir Gorkha is an umbrella term for all the tribal groups as lepchas, bhutias , gurungs, tamangs nd mny others living here for decades. This demand is not only for te upliftment of these ignored pple bt for the identity crisis. Though we hv servd our country in almost evry field right from the contry's freedom struggle to till date bt we r being asked which country we belog to ? Since mny hv no idea about the nepali pple living in Darj, having totally different cultural habits, language etc from that of bengalis .
